When it is cold out (below 30) and I go to start my car there is a noise that sounds like its coming from the cluster or dash behind it. Not quite a grinding noise but a spinning motor noise that you can only hear when the radio is off. If I turn the car off and back on once or twice it seems to go away. Anyone seen/heard this before. Its not killing me but I would like to know if its leading to future problems.

It's the asperator fan. See that little 1" square grill next to the steering wheel. The asperator draws in cabin air from there and passes it over a sensor so it knows what the cabin temp is compared to requested temp.

Thank you for the quick responses and what seems to be the accurate answers. I will look into this asap, I have only had my car for about a month and this has happened about 4-5 times and although it does bug me I have been able to overlook it. We have had a rather mild winter here in WV so I haven't had to hear it that often, so far.
Thanks again for the info guys and the great detail you have put into your post iametarq.
