I was doing some WOTs tonight on the highway. Dropped it into 2nd and accelerated from 40 mph to 75. let it slow and repeated. When i got off the highway i was unable to shift into 3rd. I was doing 55 mph and was only losing speed. the SES light was flashing and the situation seemed grimm. When i stopped at a light i hear a knock in the tranny. Not terribly loud, almost like hitting a small bump. Then as i accelerated fromt he light all gears shifted smoothly and no SES light anymore. The codes i pulled up U1016,b1009, b3055. none of these seem to relate but im not sure about b1009. Any help would be appreciated. I have 93K on the clock.

ah.. sorry this is not an answer but i had something similar happen. maybe someone will answer that thread..
i posted a more lengthy version of this at the bottom of this:
http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-deville-1985-2005-including-1985/63481-wide-open-throttle-vs-deville-owners.html
"I started doing WOTs recently and the last time i tried it, there started to be a kind of i've-been-smoking-a-pack-a-day for-20-years kind of coarseness coming from the engine? trans?
I did the WOTs by shifting to 2 at 55, running up to 70 and letting it drift to 55. I did that about 8 or 9 times and shifted back to D. Right after that, it seemed like the gas pedal was resistant - like i'd have to push it down harder or it to keep it down - like it was pushing back. Then that sound started.
The first time i did the WOTs it seemed to work like a charm. Everything seemed much smoother than before the WOTs. But the second time these problems happened.
I still seem to have power. But it seems like the car won't shift up at the right time - like it will rev higher overall and then i'll have to kick it a little harder to get it to actually shift up. does this sound normal?"
