After expecting to possibly cough up for injectors and/or coils, my service experience went very well today. I am hoping to see some results in the morning regarding my burning rich when cold (injectors being free of laquer).

Yeah, it was high. They did knock $20 off the diagnosis. I guess I was just relieved not to pay for coils and injectors.
I did still think I smelled unburnt gas this morning but just alittle. Since it's been dry and I've been using Mobil premium, I think the morning excess exhaust is getting better. Who knows what crap the PO was burning in it? And, the first few weeks I was burning Speedway. That could have been the problem. Now I am trying to wean myself off the Coolant temp gauge. Tonight when I left work, I took off when the heat came on. Still have a slight vacume leak when reving it up just before gear change. I don't think it's serious but I will probably have them look at it next time. $20 for an injector flush? Geez. Thanks for the jolt Rob. I hope you have a happy flushing yourself.

your welcome.glad you didnt have to pay for coils and injectors.i would get that vacuum leak taken care of pretty quick.i had an 88 turbocoupe thunderbird and when i pulled the motor down in it and rebuilt it well my brother did the rebuilding lol on a couple of the pistons the ring lands were melted and the guy at the machine shop where i had my block work done told me that was caused by a vacuum leak.my cylinder walls was scarred from it too.i ended up getting extra work done to the block i wouldnt have to had done because of it.i dont know if it will do that myself but that is what was told to me.i just thought i would pass it along because i would hate for you to ruin your engine because of a vacuum leak.especially a northstar as expensive as some of them are.
