I have a, I believe 97, Cadillac Deville Hearse. No one seems to know how to turn off the change engine oil light, nor the service air bag light. Digital display, by the way. Depressing the accelerator 5 times, and pressing reset, while the screen is showing the change oil message with disable that message until I shut the car off. When I start it back up, the message returns. This doesn't work with the air bag light. Holding down the information button bring me a point where I can disable certain features, but nothing to do with the oil or air bag light.

Select the oil life remaining via the information button. Once displayed, press and HOLD the reset button for several seconds til it displays 100% or XXX, I forget which.

Airbag is another storry. Something is amiss. Enter the diagnostics and retrieve any stored DTC's.

Must be something wrong with the cpu. The information button doesn't bring up any information.

You mean pushing the information button does not toggle through INST MSP, AVG MPG, AVG MPH, VOLTS, ENG TEMP, OIL LIFE etc.?

My car does not have air bags and since the service air bag warning was there i could not reset oil life or see any other info. Does your car have air bags or are they removed?

If you dont have then you can either buy new ones or put 2ohm restiors in on both the airbag connections. With the restiors the car thinks it has air bags and will remove the service airbag warning.
