Lincoln is taunting a new body for the LS with a proposed SC V8!!

thats the concept lincoln, no set date on production or even IF its going to come out.

here is the thoughts behind it.

ford noticed how well the 300C did and what it did for the chrysler brand so they are thinking of following the same formula (bad idea)
the plan is to simulate or copy an expensive foreign import, notice how that this concept car drawing (photoshop) has a lot of the same lines and hints at a BMW 7 series or a high end mercedes amg? the 300 was a copy of the previous bentley and it worked well for chrysler because its not an often seen car, but we seen BMW 7 series all over the place, its a pretty obvious knock off.
the power will be from fords standard supercharged v-8 that is used in the mustang cobra and was originally a truck engine (ford svt screwed up one too many times) and that might make the car a bit more attractive.

Let us not forget the new Lexus LS long wheel base sedan that looks a lot like the 7-series as well. What about the Chrysler Imperial concept... The more they change, the more they stay the same.

Lincoln is really promoting the look at its website to see how the public reacts. I think its a very good looking car..for a Ford:)

i was hearing it being canned with svt sportrac explorer meaning both are concept vehicles.

I'm sure Caddilac is monitoring the activity at Lincoln. I personally don't care for the current LS or this concept (or any other of their models for that matter). :stirpot: :)

reminds me of the Acura. Not bad, but not great.

I think FMC has to do something. They have nothing to offer in a sports sedan. I think Lincoln is in the best position to make a move. I bet it will take styling cues from this concept car. Probably as a 2008 model to match Cadill's new CTS design. The SC V8 will be a good selling point.

I personally think it looks a lot like the BMW 6 series. the rounded front end pulls it away from the 7 series family. Either way its still a ford.

That car was on display at the D.C auto show in January. Lincoln is in such dire straights right now, the word is they are going to bring it to market as fast as possible. You need to see the car in person. It has a much more aggressive appearance and bold rear quarter panels. It's a sharp car that will put Lincoln back into the hunt. Time will tell if it's successfull or not. BTW, the LS is gone.

Yes we know but it is resurrected as this new concept. I like the lines myself but I refuse to buy a friggin' Ford.
