View Full Version : Back from Vegas with TWO new vehicles! SpeedyArizona 02-19-06, 09:20 PM Well got back early this afternoon, didn't win a dime! I had a good time, the Wynn is fabulous, but I still prefer the Bellagio. Anyway, you guys probably want to hear about what I decided to buy...
After scanning the classified ad's, I looked at 5 different vehicles and bought one (yes, the title says two, but we'll get to that later). I found this great 1986 Porsche 911 CONVERTIBLE:eek: ! I went to my parent's home in Central Scottsdale and showed them my new purchase. Well, my mother had a 2002 Red Eldorado which she wanted to sell and buy a Camry or Lexus. I wasn't aware that she was selling, and I decided to buy her Eldorado and sell mine. So, I ended up with two different cars, and that'll be it for a while:D!
Ok, can someone tell me why I can't upload pictures, my whole "bar" is red. slk230mb 02-19-06, 09:25 PM Congrats! The red bar means that you have used up all your attachment space. Delete some of the others you have up there. You can delete them from the UserCP. I~LUV~Caddys8792 02-19-06, 09:31 PM Sweet man!
Is that the commemorative edition Eldorado?! Congrats! The red bar means that you have used up all your attachment space. Delete some of the others you have up there. You can delete them from the UserCP.

Yes, the Eldorado is a Commemorative Edition. mccombie_5 02-20-06, 03:26 AM Nice one Speedy!!!
Immense :cool2: Curious. What are Mom & Dad replacing the Porsche & Eldo with? Why would Mom go from a Cadillac to a Toyota ?
If I bought that Eldo (BTW very nice car) I would:-
1) Remove the black sim-con & repaint the roof.
2) Remove the Chevy Cavalier rear Spoiler. (Tacky).
3) Enjoy a rare & beautill car
BTW, what's the Dash Plaque number? There's a long & big story behind the dash plaque numbering on those Eldos ! Do you know it ? SpeedyArizona 02-20-06, 11:09 AM Curious. What are Mom & Dad replacing the Porsche & Eldo with? Why would Mom go from a Cadillac to a Toyota ?
My father never had a Porshce, I bought that from a person in Chandler. Don't ask me why she's selling her Eldorado, but I'm guessing she wants something that is newer or that has 4 doors. I really don't know what she'll be buying after I take possesion of her car, but my guess was a Camry or Lexus.
I don't plan on removing the spoiler or the black softtop, I think both give the car personality.
I'm not positive of the dash-plate number, but I'll get it to you later. I~LUV~Caddys8792 02-20-06, 11:30 AM Very Nice Speedy!
Beautifiul House! DopeStar 156 02-20-06, 11:34 AM I thought the commemorative editions were the 85's? I~LUV~Caddys8792 02-20-06, 12:08 PM Those too, but they had em again in '02 SHERIFF 02-20-06, 01:04 PM The Griswold family has you beat. They went on a "Vegas Vacation"

We get the idea, Rusty. AirJigga25 02-20-06, 02:19 PM cool!
I know someone with the white 86 porsche and he loves that car like no other... He's had it since brand new in 1986 and he told me about the time he did 145 in it on the way to the hospital... 532 in Aztec Red & double that for 1,064 in Alpine White, totalling 1,596 made. The unusual part regaring the dash plaques is this:
normally for reasons unknown by me, manufactures putting dash plaques that bear a # on them, will begin with 001 and go up from there, because they have no clue how many dealers are going to be ordering. With that Eldo, Cadillac knew that they would be making 1596 in advance, so the first car made was # 1596 and they worked their way down (rather than up) and the final car was # 001. OffThaHorseCEO 02-20-06, 06:38 PM hey speedy, word on the streets is you're abusy babe (http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=17828&d=1140404844) hehehe Congrats on the new cars, i've always been a huge fan of 911s  Playdrv4me 02-20-06, 08:09 PM Technically these are not called "Commemorative Editions", rather it is called the Eldorado "Collector's Series". So its a little different from whatever the 85 was.
I think the sim-con top is ok since its on there already, but I would do without the spoiler. Definitely a nice car all around though! SpeedyArizona 02-20-06, 08:37 PM hey speedy, word on the streets is you're abusy babe hehehe
Haha, I told you it is(was) my mother's! I still don't have possesion, but that'll be the #1 change on my list! | |
