I just got back from my local Cadillac dealer having ordered a 2007 Escalade. Word from them is that bluetooth will be coming soon for the 2007 model and can be retrofitted onto a non-bluetooth 2007 for those of us ordering them right now.

They didn't say when but at least it appears the bluetooth can be installed after the truck arrives. Anyone else hear this or is this my dealer just trying to talk me into going through with the purchase.

By the way, they had a white 2007 Escalade in the showroom (already sold but you could get in it). The color is much better in person than in pictures. I'm still going with Black though.

They've had this for a while. One of the local caddy dealers here told me they could install it in my 02. They've done a lot of them and not one complaint about it so far. They can even do it if you have an aftermarket deck.

You can even go to your local car audio shop and they have kits to do this too.

i honestly think its ashame for the price of the 07 you have to wonder about bluetooth... its standard in most luxury nameplates now...

If you have a bluetooth phone, you'll have a handsfree system with no cords. Output will be out of the 'Slade's speakers while input will probably be into the OnStar mic or an installed mic with the Bluetooth kit. Once you have experienced it, you won't be able to live without it...assuming the kit doesn't pick up too much excess road noise.

What the?? I can't believe the '07's still don't have it. I ordered one and didn't even bother to ask. I just thought "of course it has bluetooth". Even a toyota prius has bluetooth now. What in the world is Cadillac thinking?

Ok...so you say I can get the bluetooth to work with the system on my 05 'lade with my bluetooth blackberry? Please let me know if I can make this work! That would be very cool!

Is this something that is 100% integrated. If it isn't then you can get ground loops through the speakers and have problems. I think that it should have been something integrated into the head unit directly from the factory.

I have the parrot bluetooth kit installed in my 02 EXT... fully integrated with the truck's speakers and works perfect.

GM Geek said something about this in another post, there should be a module out soon. :)

I dont think GM will Jump on this soon. Lets just say that little blue button on your rear view mirror is of more intrest to them. Adding as "Standard" or "Optional" could and would take away from onstar use and or sales.

You can get aftermarket bluetooth addons through just about anyone. I know Nokia and Ericsson make a great BT Kit. I have installed the Parrot, and see alot of people who love it. If your not familiar with Bluetooth, I strogly urge you to look on Nokia's and Ericsson's Websites. BTW, just because it may say Nokia or Ericsson on the box, it will still work with other phones as well.

Is there a bluetooth unit out for the 2007 ESV? Not necessarily a unit from GM but from 3rd party? One that utilizes the onstar microphone and uses the ESV factory speakers.

Would be great if it also did caller ID on the radio.

What is it called and how much? That is if there is one.
Thanks!

That would be awesome. GM need to come to terms with reality. Onstar is not going to take over the world. People want to use their OWN phones in their cars, not an overpriced piece of Verizon garbage or alternatively, pay $80 for 300 minutes.

Not going to happen... the old adage "if you can't beat them, join them" has never rang truer. Get it together, GM - some of us purchased these $70k land yachts to cruise in the lap of luxury for business purposes. A bluetooth connection is hardly too much to ask for. My wife's Toyota has it built into the nav, which is 5x better than the one in the Escalade. Talk about frustration!!!

I was thinking Gm would make most of the fixs on 2008 model year. I thought we would get added. Bluetooth, AFM(Active Fuel managment) power running boards, updated express window module, power tilt/tele wheel. Has anybody else heard anything on these or any updates for 2008

Any chance you can give them a call and see if they have a GM part number for that bluetooth module?

Having done a ton of research on Cadillac's implementation of Bluetooth, in short, they'd have to re-engineer all of the existing bluetooth capable cars/trucks to do this. They haven't met any bluetooth standards in the past (this does not include 3rd party units). Which is the entire reason it has not worked well in my current STS.

As other's have said, they're more committed to OnStar for hands free calling than using your own bluetooth capable phone.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for some sort of current bluetooth retrofit from Cadillac for the 'Slade.

Thanks for that.

I may have a little treat for everyone on a Bluetooth solution later on this week. Goin' back to CES tomorrow to hopefully confirm it all.

Thats ridiculous! That costs way too much!!!

I don't know why GM didn't put Bluetooth on the 2007 Escalades when they had them on the 2005 STS. GM is now stepping up to the plate and offering Bluetooth on almost all their 2009 vehicles. They have to! It is soon going to be illegal to drive and talk on your cell phone unless you have a hands free device.
