Here are some early chick-mobiles I dug up while surfing the web. Some go way back -- others not quite so far. Check 'em out and add to them if you think of more. I'm sure there were tons of cars marketed to women over the decades. :)

Oh but it was. The Berlinetta model was marketed to girls. One of my buddies in college had one and we'd all tease him about his car and perhaps being "that way"; course he wasn't, as he got married and had 3 kids. Not that that means anything I suppose, but... oh forget it... I'm drifting...:Offtopic:

1) The 1988 Caddy I bought used, in 1990, with just 13,000 flawless miles on it, from the local Mary Kay DISTRICT MANAGER, therefore she didn't have to travel as much, and only put 6,500 a year on her cars. I added the Appliance Genuine Wire Wheels, the Vogue white walls and swapped out the hard cold plastic steering wheel for a year & model correct leather wrapped one. Thing ran flawlessly all the time. Sold it in 1994 with under 20,000 on it & 6 years "Old". When sold, it was still w/out a single flaw. Never saw it again, after I sold it.

2) The Mark 7 I ordered brandy new. Every possible option + SOP (Special Order Paint) = 1959 Thunderbrd & Lincoln "Flamingo"on the 'Bird and "Shell Pink" on the Lincoln.

3) That is not our house (I wish) That is the house of the man in Florida that I sold it to, in 1993 (when it was 7 years old with 7,000 miles on it!!) That house is in Puenta Gordo Florida. I am in New Jersey.

Here's a picture of our house :)

That's our Summer Home, near the beach.:)

Now the truth....
I have no pictures and if I did, I have no scanner. It's a nothing special house. We own an unusual house. It's a 2 family, and we rent the 1st floor. It's a huge tax savings. However the house is a 3 story. We live on the 2nd and the 3 floors. We have between the 2nd & 3rd floors (which to us are like the 1st & 2nd floors in any other house) 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 stoarge rooms, a living room & dining room and a kitchen and a den. The 1st floor rental has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, a kitchen a dining room & a living room and a den. I have here a 3 car gargage and a 6 car driveway. It's a wood frame house, facing a county park, and it's light beige (paint) with white trim and a cranberry-red colored front door. There's a small-ish back yard all fenced in and the property measures a small-ish 47 feet w-i-d-e and 102 feet deep. It was built in 1933. There is no central A/C, just room units, and tiny old fashioned closets One of the 3rd fl. bedrooms I have turned into my office. There's a TV there, and it's all carpeted and the house has 44 windows in it, all new-in-1995.
There's a HUGE MAMOUTH basement, that is divided 3-ways:
The tenant's 1/3rd ~ OUR 1/3rd and a joint 1/3rd.... There are 2 washers & 2 dryers down there. From the 3rd floor to the basement is 48 steps !!
The garage is not heated & does have a power lift door.

We have very nice & polite 1st floor tenants who always pay on time. They do not have use of the driveway and have a permit to park on the street.
We pretty much live here for free, as the rent pays for the property taxes, the gardner, the heating oil and the house insurance. None of this comes directly outta my income. The house has been in the family for 33 years. There are 9 houses on the street, it's a middle-class area in a "blue-collar" town. We are "well-mixed" in the 9 houses! 1 Latino, 2 African American, 3 Jewish and 3 White American Christian. Any other questions should be submitted in writing.:)

Around 1974 - 1976 "ish", can't remember exactly. Pontiac made their version too called the "Astre Cabriolet" and it was even chickier. It had a round porthole window in the rear sort of like an old T-bird.

There are two ways to get full size images in your post, both involving something called hot-linking. You can look up a generic image on the web using Google or Yahoo image engines, then after loading the image, right click on it and selecting "copy image location." Then open a posting window on the forums. In the top row of icons above the message box, there is one that looks like a photograph of mountains; this is the insert image icon. Click on it and a pop up will ask for a URL of the picture you want to insert. Right click in the box and paste in the image address you just copied (make sure there's only one http:// in the link address after you paste).

If the image is on your computer, you can post the pics to a site like CarDomain.com or Photobucket.com, then hotlink to them as described above.

That's entirely possible. Back then GM of Canada had several unique models, most notably in the Pontiac lineup. The Strato Chief, Laurentian and Parisienne (aka Bonneville in the U.S.). But then you guys had a really cool Pontiac that we never could buy here -- the Grand Ville. The '75 convertible... now that was a cool car.:)

You've got a good eye and an even better memory. In the mid '70s the Canadian Department of Transport mandated all sorts of new vehicle standards -- 5 MPH rear bumpers (I think the U.S bumpers only had to withstand a 2.5 MPH impact), metric speedometers and odometers, integral shoulder belts and... amber rear turn signals. So yeah, I guess the rear tail lights are the Canadian version. The "amber rule" sort of died or got overturned or whatever because today's cars are back to red. I wish the "metric rule" would be dropped -- its frustrating as hell driving the wife's '88 deVille and looking at the fuel data center saying "25.6 Litres/100 km" ; like WTF does that mean!!! I find myself converting in my head back to miles per gallon. "Hmmm... 4.5 litres per Imperial gallon, or 3.8 litres per U.S. gallon, 1 mile = 1.6 kilometers, so that's...." Then my brain explodes and I have to pull over. :rant2:

I have always liked the Jeep Surrey. Did ya know it also came in green & light blue? Most people only recall the bright pink. Not sure I'd drive one, it's a bit much. That Dodge Dart is in SUBLIME ~ whichwas the color of my 1970Dodge Challenger R/T 440 S.E. THE most outragious car I ever owned. You laughed at it or pointed & laughed, you got blown away to dust.

It was a study in contrastS !

THAT "Sublime" with a "formal roof" meaning vinyl covered with a small(er) enclosed "Formal" limo-style rear window, Chrome luggage rack on the trunk, Rally II wheels wearing red-line tires, with black & white checkerboard cloth interior, with black leather border. Overhead luxury console, hood pins, and over 30 OTHER options. Engine was the 440 4-Bbl. with H.D. Torqueflite Auto and 3.43:1 gearing. I was a crazy idiot with that car and raced it every day on the way home. I got pulled over weekly by the town's finest for "exceeding" the speed limit (DUH) and many street drag races. 71MPH in a 35 zone, and no ticket BECAUSE I worked the bids for the cop cars & signed off on the bids and I knew all the cops and we got all the sales of the cop cars in 2 towns. So, they'd have to stop me but I was just given a warning ('Ya, ahhh, like 3 warnings a week) I also ran the shop for a year and I scheduled the cop cars coming in for repair. Want you car later today? Bet ya do.
Had alot of fun, wish I could turn back the clock. Now-A-Daze I drive city limits, or slower in a Town Car. 4,400 pounds with 239 H.P.

I am getting old. I'd like to try & turn the clock's hands back, but it's useless. The penality of having a great youth is that you miss it more when it's gone. (and) it does flee by so very quickly, especially with offspring forcing yee to be mature, grown up, responsible, all-knowing, soother to wife, example to son, responsible to self, mortgage payer, bill payer, etc, etc. and then the days comes that the child graduates college (3 months away) and the mortgage is paid and and and and.....darn, you're too old to go back & "play" as you promissed yourself you'd do "one day" ~ ~ simply because you are NOW just too old to play, and the times have past ya by, several of your pals have died, others are sickly. It stinks. I need to learn golf, buy the white shoes, and the white pants & sit around the clubhouse and brag with the other old guys....but but but THEY ARE old. oooohhhhh SWEET !!! That was most certainly a chick-mobile in its time. Actually I learned to drive on one of those - my mom had one - not a ragtop but a red 1200 CC Vee Dub. Four on the floor, 45 HP air cooled 4 banger, seconday fuel tank (cuz believe it or not a fuel gage was an option..LOL), and a crappy gas heater that never worked right. BUT, no anti-lock brakes either which made it easy to do donuts in the empty mall parking lot in the winter !!! Great fun for 16 year old drivers with learner's permits...

No, it's being sold by the guy I SOLD IT TO......It's still PURR-FECT, and with 18,000 miles in 20 years! He did not sell it. I think Ten Thou would, thou....it has every option and is flawless, never hit, as far as I've been told.
There should be a spare can (gallon) of paint in the trunk. Regardless, it's 1959 Thunderbird FLAMINGO, still very available at any automotive paint store. Pin stripe (Factory) and bodyside moulding & Interior are Maroon.

Okay lets fix this:
There were others: Vitimin "C" and Plymouth's Plum Crazy was called "In-Violet", and then there was "Sno-White" "Limelight" (Plymouth's Sublime) and Plymouth's version of Panther Pink which was "Moulan Rouge" and Plymouth's version of Bahama Yellow: Bahama Mama and others too. There were some 1-month colors, too! Notably Basin Street Blues. Also Tor-Red and Curious Yella, & Sassy Grass Green.

We had 'em all lined up. Never thought to take pics :bigroll:

I took an order for a Bee Coupe in Sassy Grass Green with black vinyl buckets
and a steel top (no vinyl) Had the Bumble Bee stripe around the tush. Buyer cancelled
order. That Bee had a birthday there. In Stock 1 year ! Finally sold it at a $900.00 loss.

Would've loved to see a picture of that beast. In 10th grade one of my teachers had a '70 Dodge Dart "Super Bee" or some stupid name like that. Same weird green color. I'm too lazy to read the previous four pages, so don't kill me if this came up already. What about every minivan ever produced? Nothing screams soccer mom like a minivan. There is no way a dude can drive one and feel masculine. The print shop I used to deliver for had a Windstar, I felt like a total douche driving that thing!

I always thought my sister's first car was a pretty big chick car. She had a lipstick red 1990 Grand Am coupe. The fact that her friends all said it was "so cute" only reinforces this. God I hated that car, I'm glad she smashed the front of it and wound up with a 1994 Regal. That's a car I wouldn't be embarassed to be seen in.

We used to get one of these too in 1999, a pontiac/other stuff in the GM lineup, with a Vauxhall badge on it, nobody bought it though.

I think they put the 2.2 Diesel in it also.

I know that they werent European, definately imported from the states, but it must have been a factory that produced them with right hand drive, so it should be easy to tell where the cars were made, not more than one factory will have produced them with RHD, they only sold a few thousand of them, between 1997 and 1999. IIRC.

I remember an especially funny episode of Car Talk (http://www.cartalk.com) on NPR when a guy called asking which car he should trade in: his Toyota Supra or his pregnant girlfriend's Honda Civic. Once they stopped laughing, Tom and Ray told him the Supra was history: "Might as well hike your pants up to your armpits, because once you get that minivan, your manhood is gone!"

I like repeating that story to my friend whose family is on their third minivan.

It's an MCC Smart ForTwo City Coupe, built by Mercedes Benz, the coloured panels are interchangeable, and you can have all sorts of designs, its a city car, that can fit into parking bays sideways.

MCC also have other cars, the MCC Smart Fortwo Convertible, the MCC Smart Crossblade, the MCC Smart Roadster, and the MCC Smart ForFour.

Smart ForTwo Convertible:

Smart Crossblade:

Roadster, in coupe and convertible bodystles has a 700CC Turbocharged engine, and Brabus also do a version:

Brabus Roadster:

And finally, the Smart ForFour, this is a four door, five seat supermini, not as revoloutionary as the ForTwo, and quite expensive, but interesting nonetheless, this is available with 1.3 and 1.5 litre engines.

Those GM vans never did well in crash tests when it came to frontal offset ...The version you got in brittan was called the sinatra (tho oddly not named after frank) ...When they came out in 97 there was some buzz about how it was also desgined for europe ...which is how they explaind away its small size comapred to the grand caravan ....

The van i use for work is a 05 Relay , from the windshield back its the same as the 97 model , but GM put ALOT of work into makeing it crashworthy , beefed up floorpan and subframe ...but it looks even more dorky since they tried it make it look more like a sport ute
looks exactly like this one:
http://www.mavel.com/forecast/Detroit_Autoshow/saturn-relay-1.jpg

its gutless , dorky and totally pathetic ..at least it got the igger 3.9 OHV varible valve v6 for this year ....but they wont replace mine yet ....couldnt be becuse im asking for a 07 Escalade ....Im tired of looking like a dork , and tired of explaing to customers why im takeing them home in a crumy saturn van ...

but i do like the dash in it
http://a332.g.akamai.net/f/332/936/12h/www.edmunds.com/media/2004/laautoshow/saturn.relay/05.saturn.relay.int.500.jpg

As for the smart , they did ALOT of artic testing up the road from the base i worked at in alaska , those little roadsters were kinda cool ....but my G20 would out run them (got one to race me that had all that black tape and plastic on it)...one of the most interesting "kills"

Theyre pretty good apparently, they are a bit different to the norm, the Brabus Coupe's are nicer thant he convertible model though, I think the convertible is a sort of pick up truck looking thing.

I would of course, drive all of these cars, in pink, because if you drive a girl's car, girls will want to drive it, and that means you get girls :)
