I have never ever bought anything on ebay, and rarely buy anything online. I finally broke down and bought rims and tires on ebay for $1075. The dude was real nice, let me get my paypal account set up and everything. He said he was going to ship them monday and send me an email with tracking info. Yesterday I sent him a nice email just asking for an update. Just now I log on with an email refund confirmation from paypal. I guess the ******* decided that they were worth more. What an *******. I am really disappointed in this. I hate people enough as it is- I really hope this guy isn't one of "us." I told him about here and faq, said he checked them out. Well thanks for listening. Disappointing. :rant2:

You should report him to ebay. He entered into a contract and its breech.
Sorry about your experience but he coulda kept your money and not sent rims.....I have purchased about 30 things from ebay and only 1 bad experience so far

Myself, between gunbroker and ebay, I've got over two hundred great experiences...only one bad one...I've bought a lot of guns, ammo, car parts, cd's, books and random other junk from both sites, and never had a real problem..I hope that it works out for you next time!

I had a similar thing happen, bought an EGR valve, noticed a refund, asked why, the guy emailed me with a pic of a broken EGR valve (one of the "ears" on the base was broken where the bolt hole was.) He said he'd dropped it. I'm glad he didn't just ship it that way and try to get out of it...

I've had no bad experiences like that on Ebay so far. I've done it 23 times so far. Even bought a car off of there!

Sorry to hear about that man.

You should feel lucky he refunded your money. Atleast you still have the money to purchase another set. I know a few friends that have been scammed on ebay for thousands of dollars. Some came out well and some did not. Too many scammmers out there!

It's an unenforcable contract. When it comes down to it, you're only bidding on the right to buy something. Many, MANY more buyers back out than sellers.

If you got your money back be thankful and move on. Some of us haven't been that lucky.

Leave negative feedback and report him to both eBay and Paypal. He'll still be around, but maybe you can shake him up enough that he won't ever do it again.

I was looking at the same set of wheels and noticed you were bidding on them. Sucks he screwed you. I would definetly report his arse to ebay. It is easy to do.

Leave negative feedback....

Sorry to say, but that's bad advice. The seller will retailiate and leave negative feedback for the buyer then.

The only thing one can do in a case like this is report the seller to eBaY and complain that he will not sell what he advertised after the auction was over.

Can you provide the auction # or link? I want to look at the auction. Thanks!

8033163689 is the item number. He said he wants to sell them seperately so he can get more money. He was selling them with tires, now his excuse is the rears are too worn.

If the guy admits he's holding out for more money, leaving negative feedback isn't such a bad idea after all. One simple comment, less than 80 characters:

"Seller accepted payment, then refunded and reneged, wanted MORE $$$"

There is no way to force someone to sell you something on eBay, whether you win or not. Sellers have the right to reject any bid for any reason.

Certainly it's bad form to do what this bum is doing to you, and it's frowned upon in the eBay community. The only way to expose him is via the feedback system. That's why it exists.

There's a way to report him to ebay as a non selling seller or something like that. The last time I had a problem with someone on ebay it was because I sent him a check and he didn't want it even though he told me before it was fine. But he never told me how he wanted to be payed and wanted to charge something like $8 more if I wanted to use paypal!! HE told ebay I didn't pay him and opened a dispute so I did it right back to him and at the end ebay still blamed me even though right in their disupte I kept saying I'd pay him if he told me how. They gave me a bad rating that I got rid of because I had the first e-mail where he said a check was fine but he got nothing!! And this was all for something that costed around $10!!!! He sells NOS mopar parts and hes screwed a lot of people. After all that I'll never deal with him again either.

Forward that to eBay and Paypal. I'm sure they'd love to see it.

If he knows where you live, watch your back in three days.

That sounds like a threat to me. I'd forward that to Ebay and Paypal and list a complaint against the guy. I'll bet you a dollar that the guy is just making empty threats, but I'd still watch my back if I were you. After all, there are some nutty people in this world. Good luck.

Hey, I saw those wheels and tires, too! Man, sorry you sorta got screwed. Like some others here said, I've sold about 50 books and have 100% positive feedback, and I've bought maybe 6 or 7 things, never had a problem.

I see he's got those wheels still for sale. Just count your blessings ... it's always a risk. But, that negative feedback you gave will haunt him well into the future. If you reported the "threat" to ebay, he might even get the heave-ho. Now, that's a nice thought!

I just purchased a set of 4 Deville Concours rims and tires for $100.00 from a person I know at work. They're real nice wheels from the '94-'96 model years and are 225/60/R16 chromes with like-new tread on the Micheline tires...But the problem with them is that they came without the center caps, which is why the price for the set was so reasonable. I ordered a set of chrome center caps from Ebay almost 2 weeks ago for another $100.00...

I'm still waiting for my center caps :rant2:

GM list is about $55 I believe.

Why not buy from gmpartsdirect? Might cost $15 more, but you would have it within a couple of days.

illumina, do NOT let it go past 30 days if you paid with paypal, after that you're screwed on making a claim.

If anyone ever doesn't communicate with you about an auction you won and paid for, file a claim. They get real talkative then...

I didn't know about GM parts-direct for center caps, but the dealership wants about $115.00 per cap!!! I just bought them for roughly $22.00 per cap.

Yeah, I know, but I've never had any issues with this before, so believe me when I say that this one is kind of surprising...But...

I just recieved the shipping info from the tracking number this morning. They should be here sometime today :bouncy:
