for those to lazy to click the link here are the videos:

This is the frontal crash test, you'll notice that as soon as the front bumper is destroyed the frame stays intact and keeps the occupents safe in a steel box, recieves 5 Stars for the driver, 4 for the passenger :)

side crushes in but still recieves 4 stars for each passenger. Cadillacs still remain the big cars on the road and show that you don't need an SUV/truck to be safe.

I do not understand the design standard for side air bag deployment. I had a 2005 DeVille and got struck in the passenger door, Ware I was sitting, by a car that ran a red light. We were going 20 MPH at the time of impact. The side air pages did not deploy. The passenger door came into the passenger area and I suffered 4 broken ribs and a broken collar bone. Either the door was not strong enough to keep it out of the passenger compartment or the velocity settings for the air bag did not match the door strength design. Can anyone make a comment?

sounds like something you should contact your dealer about, any accident that causes that much damage should (and would unless somethings wrong) trigger the side impact airbag to deploy. (the threshold for deployment is listed in the manual)

The front and side air bages are on separate circuits. The fronts will not deploy if you travel under 20 MPH. The sides deploy on volicity change only. That is my understanding. The damage was sever, and the car was totaled.
