i know its not a cadillac but i need some opinions. i have a 94 explorer 4x4 and it now leakes fuel from the sending unit. my dilema is it has 198k on it and has quite a few problems and i need to know if i should fix. first of all it burns roughly a quart of oil every 1000 miles, it has a delayed shift between 1 and 2 gears, also drivers window drops when attempting to roll it down and 4x4 does not work cuz the auto. hubs dont engage.:suspense: also if it matters i bought it for 500 dollars and i already have 12k miles on it since i bought it. PLEASE GIVE OPINIONS! JUNK,SELL, OR FIX, autozone said a sending my price 125

You got 12,000 miles out of a $500 94 Explorer, I'd say you got your money's worth. Junk it and move on. Sounds like it could turn into a money pit. Get out before it sucks you in.

Friends don't let friends drive ford exploders.

Get out of that thing..

If you have the patience, pull parts off it and sell 'em on ebay, then bring the carcass to a crusher. That's the best way to make money off it...

That trans sucks, when it is good, it is a nice shifting one, but they are always weak and rebuilds only last 100K if you are lucky, and cost way too much (often $1500+)

Strip the engine/trans out, sell. Drop in a 302 or 351 (I prefer 351, bigger is better...) and AOD and drive it for a long time and have some decent power too....

Drive until it stops moving. Pour in a bottle of Lucas and squeeze out 6-12 months of use. $500... your job is to beat on that beater until it finally dies.

Just throw it in the garbage, ok?
