Best price I found was on Ebay. Install is fairly easy. You should be able to put it in yourself with no problems.

Go to http://www.cadillacfaq.com/

The instructions are for a UUC shifter. I had a local shop install my UUC since the dealer quoted me over $400 to do the install. Make sure whoever does the install that they understand that the transmission does not need to be removed just lowered for clearance; a few exhaust bolts and your done.

You wont have to do as much as the UUC install requires for the B&M.
You wont have to drop the exhaust, tranny, or remove the shifter links to install the B&M.
Just make sure you have the revised model B&M. The older shifter will not fit into the linkage arm. If your instructions say CTS-V on them, you should be OK.

Yes, all V's run a Tremec T56 tranny.

I was warning you about the shifter because the old model had a bigger ball joint on the end that does NOT fit the V's linkage arm. I know because when I ordered my B&M I was sent the old model arm. B&M promptly sent me a new one. The new shifter also has a bend in shifter arm, teh old model is straight. The new model instructions WILL have references for installation for a CTS-V. Just wanted to give you a heads up because I'd sure hate for you to get under there and remove everything, only to have to put the old shifter back in, like I did. That had me in a bad mood for the rest of the day.

You should be OK with your order.

Thanks!

No problemo.
The hardest part, IMO, was removing the damned console.

I’m contemplating the same installation on my ’06. Has anybody installed a short shifter on an ’06 model? If so, was the improvement the same as has been reported with the earlier models? There is conflicting information on whether or not the 06 shifter is improved over the earlier models so I’m curious about the improvement with the B&M or the UUC.

As far as the installation goes, if you can get under the car and comfortable turning a wrench, it seems straightforward. There is reasonable, though tight, access to the shift rod bolt without removing the exhaust or lowering the transmission. Popping the knob and boot off is one firm upward yank on the knob away. There are a couple of rivets which need to be drilled however. There are a number of threads on shifter installation. It doesn’t seem like the console will need to be removed.

Some people have recommended installing stiffer shift bushings to get more positive shifting. I am undecided about this because stiffer bushings tend to transmit more NVH and the B&M has a reputation for transmitting more gearbox noise. It is said that this noise can be minimized with careful shifter installation (wrapping the rod to increase its diameter to the same as stock so the rubber boot fits correctly, good lubrication on all moving parts and make sure all the bushings are seated correctly)

I had to remove the console in order to remove the shifter plate. The front part of the plate sits under a big connector that can't be removed unless the console is out of the way. The B&M shifter attaches to this plate once the stock handle is removed. I guess you could just leave the plate in and do the whole install that way. However, the space under there is a bit cramped so it was easier removing teh console from the top.
I paid ~$175 new for mine off ebay.

II paid ~$175 new for mine off ebay.I think that's right ... $166 plus shipping on ebay. Got mine there and absolutely LOVE it. Out of deference to the future, I ordered UUC bushings yesterday ... should be here tomorrow. Will install this weekend (I hope). This (B&M or UUC) is just about the best mod you can do to a V.:highfive:

Ebay is the way! You can do the whole install in about an hour.

Don't forget to get a few pieces of Danamat for the B&M and please, please, please remember to grease and seat the bushings properly or you won't be happy......
