Does the button for the power fold mirrors light up? Mine doesn't and I can't recall if it ever did.

Thanks, one less thing to worry about. Now I can go back to getting those steering wheel radio controls replaced.

Not the puddle lamps under the mirror, but the center of the switch that folds them in and out. According to James @ Lindsay the wiring diagram shows that the switch is supposed to be illuminated, he is looking into it further for me.

Hahaha, but isn't your button for the power mirrors also the switch that controls the mirror position?

For anyone wondering, the controls are covered under warranty (James called up and asked for me) and it requires the removal of the airbag cover, airbag, and steering wheel. As much as it stinks, it's a job for the dealership.

Yes it is. Mine is near the window controls by the door. Yours is near the a/c vent where we have a empty comparment. Right?

The "button" itself does NOT light up on my 02, but the words above & below the "button" do light up.

Thanks, do you think you could post a pic of it lit up? I don't think I've ever seen mine lit.

The top button on the left is out, as are all ones on the right.

So I just took apart my power mirror switch and sure enough, it is supposed to be illuminated. Before I go and order a new switch I am going to see if I can replace and resotter some new bulbs on there.

I don't understand why you would need lights for this button anyways?

It's just knowing that there is something broken on my truck that annoys the hell out of me.

Well, I went to Radio Shack and picked up 2 12v bulbs, and sottered them on. The switch is now illuminated top and bottom and the dimming still works. I'll watch it over the next few days to see how the sottering holds up and to make sure that the face of the switch doesn't get too hot.

Yea, the words above and below the button should light up, not the button itself.

I'm going to make a warranty claim out of it. I don't want a face full of air bag. The service manual says that the airbag cover, airbag, and steering wheel need to be removed to R&R the switches.
