Do our cars eat front tires? My tires had 8 - 10k on the tires and the front tires were destroyed on the inside only. I had them replaced and an alignment done, and the shop said the alignment was pretty close to spec. If it wasnt way out, why would my tires have worn down so badly? Chords were showing.
The V sets the tires up for better cornering. Have your alignment guy set them to standard sts specs for longer tire life. 8-10k is not very good though...what tires are you running? I got 20k out of my last set
All sport sedans from all manufacturers do this now, so they get the perf #s and lap times. I'll guarantee that if you take a new m5 and attempt to align it like a 5 series, the indicators would glow red at al four corners on the monitor. Cars are set up for perf, not mileage, from the motor to is shoes...
My fronts had MAYBE 25% left on their inside edges at 12k mi. After lowering spring installation necessitating an alignment, and performing it to the standard STS specs, the balding has not progressed.
