Holy freekin crap! You guys have been listening to low fi long enough. I just hooked in my video I pod:bonkers: . Unfreekin believable! This thing is thunderous. This is a must do mod if you like music. I havent figured out how to get to the songs yet, Im still fumbling but wow. Granted I have a signal triggered amp and sub but the tweeters actually work and the drivers are getting some excersize. Gm definetly goofed up the XM in this receiver. With the Ipod the frequency bandwith is available but only with CD's or the IPOD.

Reed this thing is the tits!:histeric:

I still need to contact these guys to get the correct video iPod firmware. I have the original kit sitting in my bedroom.

I called Ed and shipped my old unit, he promptly sent me the new digital interface. I havent even run the wire out to the XM yet. Its kicks major but though. What a difference.

That is very nice but the Ipod holder is held on with doublesided tape. Its operated by the NAV unit. I dont touch the I pod at all! Its just a connection point that is completely out of the way. Its not visible, which is a good thing.

What about the Monster iCruze set up? I thought they were pretty much the premier kit for the iPod-car integration. Was what I was gonna get, but then I saw the kit on this forum. It also, like the 'radioandmore' kit allows control of the iPod via the factory stereo and charges & locks the Ipod during use. Anyone try that set-up or know how it stacks up? Now, I'm leaning more towards the 'radioandmore' kit, given that it has been tested and approved by fellow V owners. It also doesn't hurt that it's probably a bit cheaper. So, anyone try the iCruze?

I've been holding off on buying the Ipod interface until the issues with the Video Ipod are figured out. I am really looking forward to having the Ipod in the Caddy, I have already installed Ipod interface kits in our other cars.

Does any one know for sure if the issues with the Video Ipod have been worked out?

Thanks :)

Hey - T/J on a little.

Do I have to unplug the Ipod to keep it from draining the battery when the V sits?

Also - I seem to be having issues with interfacing. I do not have ANY playlists saved into the Ipod - only a boatload of tunes. Do I have to make playlists?

Thanks,

WW

The ipod will shut off automatically with the RAP (its powered via the radio)

The side buttons control the playlists and yu should have them to make this work right.. otherwise the side buttons dont do anything.

However, the display is very slow to change and once I got used to flipping through my menus, I'd be more than a little irritated.

I've not seen it real-life, but one of our CTS members bought and installed it. It works with the video iPod.

It is nice, but I love the uber integration with the existing kit.

I really, really dig this kit.

One point must be made, though. I spent 30 minutes this morning to cancel XM...if I could reach through the OnStar speaker and strangle the moron on the other end, I would have.

Then I cancelled OnStar.

Neither operation was helpful, but most especially the genius at XM who could not state my name properly or remember why I wanted to cancel it. I stated multiple times that I thought XM sucked (even though I used to feel differently). I started out by telling lies and stating I was selling the vehicle - but they kept pushing XM down my throat, so I had to be honest.

Anyway, be prepared because if you have XM and you install the integration kit - you'll likely stop listening to XM and want to cancel it, and that process is far more painful than installing the genius integration module by far :banghead:

Thanks Reed - sorry Urby F'ed up your car while you were gone. He told me he was just going to practice a cam and head swap...nothing about the ghetto paintjob and stickons :nono:
