I bought the car with 100,300 miles on it and have invested 1k on the car within 5 months (valve covers, Crankshaft positin sensor, sparkplug wires). I've got an error of #5 missfiring and my mechanic said it was the sparkplug wires to fix, sounds to good to be true based on some threads i've read. I've read countless threads about the 1997 and was wondering if anyone has hit the 200,000?

I have 110,000 and everything mechanicaly is perfect. I plan on keeping this car untill the wheels fall off (which might be sooner than i think as the crome is peeling off on one of the wheels damn ohio salt). I would say that just it being a german car should mean 200,000 before any major problem such as engine or trans rebuild. Look at how much you like the car, how much you paid for it, repairs so far and other vehicle choices.

We have 259K, knock on wood. The last time I bragged the radiator developed a leak. Bought new and driven hard. Wife has a lead foot.

I have 100,900 on my '97. I changed my wires last summer because of a misfire when I tried to put Bosch +4's in and I guess the extra current was too much for the old wires. Paid around $270 for the wires. DISGUSTING. Fixed the problem tho.

I saw a '96 Saab 9000 griffin in 2002, which had 425,000 km on it (approx. 265k mi) My father owned a Saab/Volvo repair service. He said it was going like crazy (meaning like new). If ya'll don't know, that's the same V6. My Cat has 116k.

The coil pack is a pain on the 97. It took me two hours and 4 beers.:alchi:
