Well I knew I was coming up on it and I am weird so I like to take a picture of the ODO at certain milestones... So I was on a roadtrip driving to SD on the freeway and I had the camera at the ready.. ipod on random (40 GB filled on random, BTW)... at 19,999 miles a corvette pulls up next to me (lookin to play). My girlfriend suggests a picture at 100 mph to give it a "20k spankin'"... I speed up...Next...

NO CRAP the iPod switches to Rock and Roll by zepplin (remember 38 gb of music on random).. The corvette wants to go and I hit the gas... the resulting picture is what my car was doing when it hit 20K miles...

The conditions were right and everything just clicked...

disclaimer: My girlfriend took the picture, and I do not condone racing or speeding on public roads...

That's kick ass. A moment for noting to burn into the memory. Everything was in sync and it's good you took the time to notice them.

In this case I don't think the outcome with the Vette is the important part. It was the synchronicity of everything. The day out with the girl in the V, the challenge of a run (although I think it's fitting it was a Vette in Reed's case), the right kind of tune gets selected, and the speed and sound of the horses all come together as you mark 20K on you ride.

Thanks for sharing the moment. :)

so reed, was she sitting on your lap when she took that pix? the angle looks awfully good for her to be sitting next to you in the passenger seat.
at 100 mph, you're a cheeky dude :lildevil:

Dude,

What gear were you in? I hope it wasn't "R" for race!

Reed,

Try turning off traction control and you'll be surprised how much faster the V is. :highfive:

I was thinking the same thing when I saw that pic. Mine never goes above 150.

for the record, we came up on traffic quickly, so I would call it a draw with me and the vette. Besides, i was too busy driving with a camera in my face to worry about him.

My girfriend was stretching the camera over my lap, but I was focusing on the road.

The TC was on for exactly Urbys point. about 2 minutes before someone almost swerved into me. Unless I am road racing in an area I know or a track, the babysitter drives with me.

The gear oil may have been that high because I had been driving at speed for sometime (about 45 minutes). My speed ranged from about 70-110 before that picture was taken. That is why it has been on the display. I have been having "shifting issues" and was trying to determine if it is heat related. I think i am going to swap out the fluid with some synthetic stuff. Maybe I will use the new Dexron VI which is a GM fluid (warranty) but improved over the current crap we use (although not synthetic)... they cant void my warranty with this: http://www.cadillacfaq.com/faq/tsb/data/04-07-30-037a.pdf
