I'm taking the PE (Mechanical-Thermal/Fluids Depth) on April 21st. For those that don't know it's the Professional Engineering exam. This is to get my engineering (PE) license. I will have about 6 months and 250 hours of studying logged for this puppy. :o

OK, enough about that. I want to reward myself for studying so long and taking the exam. So I've been wanting to buy a Cuban cigar and have been looking online to see if I can buy one online but the problem is the prices vary all over and I'm afraid the cheap ones aren't authentic & I'm afraid the expensive one are a rip off. Apparently it's legal because for example a company in Canada (or somewhere else) will buy them and sell them to you so it's not a direct import.

So where can I get an authentic Cuban cigar??? What kind should I get? Can anyone help me??? :worship:

Thanks for everything!!! :highfive:

Joey,

Save your dough.... the Cubans are few and far between, most are fakes. Go buy yourself a Fuente Fuente Opus X or a nice Davidoff (I prefer the Ghurkas that have been aged over cognac!!! en tubos). Most Dominicans will taste just fine and will be less than 10 bux a crack

Go Here:
http://www.lignum2.com/

This what I smoke. Best cigar I have ever found. They are duplicates to the Cubans they used to make. Scan thru the links & get the Churchills, but not the "dark"

Then go to dealers. There are NONE (I check 4-U) in your state, but try going to Calif. and scan down to Lignm in a town called Alverio (or so,ething like that - it's in yellow....contact them as they may sell direct since no retailer in S.C. They are not cheap. I pay $145.00 a box of 25.

Well...I'm not really a cigar smoker but I thought it would be a cool way to celebrate. I really want a cuban and I found many websites that sell them but just not sure if they are legit, ya know.

Like these...

Don't waste your time or money. I've had several Cubans (in the Caribbean); always a letdown. There are actually more Cubans making Cigars in south Florida than in Cuba. Dominican tobaccos IMHO are superior, and a whole lot cheaper.

Get yourself a decent Cohiba, and you'll enjoy a good smoke. Best wishes on the exam and congrats on your dedication to the task.

I thought Cohibas were Cubans. After all my research I was thinking about a Cohiba Siglo IV from Cuba.

Tampa, Fl and Ybor City has a lot of Cubans making cigars. I can't think of the name that is supposed be really good. I asked around.

been since the early 90s but i loved to shop in Ybor....back when the Lightning used to play at the fairgrounds :p

Joey and I talked in email, but in reality other than saying "I've had a Cuban" i don't find them any better than Dominicans. I usually grab a box of $20-per when i'm in vegas :)

My apologies, you're right. I meant to write Fuentes - not enough sleep and too much Miller last night I guess.
