would a Cadillac dealer remove the top speed limiter off the 2006 cts-v. When I played my video game it was governed at 151..that is horrible...

You will not find a dealer doing that. They are subject to fines, etc. if they tamper with the emission system, which would have to be done to accomplish this. You will want to pose this question to SteathV, or other alternate performance programming companies.

We don't have the capability to adjust the speed limiter anyway.
It's part of the software in the PCM and yes we can "reprogram" them BUT only with calibrations from the manufacturer. We don't have software to modify the calibrations in any way. We download them straight into the car from GM. We don't get to "tweak and tune", that's up to the engineers.

What do you mean "your video game"??

And why would it be set to 151?

The only way it could be changed from a dealer standpoint is if an engineer changes the calibration, downloads it to techline and then I call and ask for a VCI number to use the modified calibration.
I doubt that anybody up there is going to do that.

Many aftermarket flash program makers change this in their modified cals, but you'd have to do some research to find a place to do this.

I thought they set the limiter based on the rating of your tires, which for the stock runflats is 168 and then it shuts off the gas.

It's my understanding the cars are calibrated at the factory based on the tires they put on the car.
