A 2003 stalling under any conditions is not good. Is it under warranty?

turn the key into a slot before ignition and depress the on/off and info iup button and wait to see if codes pop up. there will definately be one ebcause of the stall, just to inform you that the car has stalled. There should be at elast 1 additional to that stating the area of problem. Write the code down and google it, youll find out what it means.

the vehicle is out of waranty.ill check to see if there is any code ,il get back to you on that. wasnt there a cam sensor or crank sensor issue on the 4.6 could nt that throw my timing a little off and that could be the noise?
It has both crank and cam shaft sensors but I don't think either will cause a tapping or rattling sound. Check the belt tensioners, idlers and accessory bearings as well as the belts.

Hi Roquesr,
I'm Gilbo and just signed up... I havebn;t figured out how to use this Forum yet. I wrote the note about my 89 Deville that stalls, skips, coiughs whenever I use any battery power, but dion;t knowhow to tell you how to find it...Duuuuh?
I had a tapping too but it would cycle. I finally figurred out it was the AC compressor. Problaby not your problem but I'd never heard an AC compressor make a sound like that.
Gilbo ..... Oops, I clicked on "Quick Reply" and now see I should have used Post Reply
