I changed the water pump, spark plugs, wires, rotor cap and button. Car turns and coughs here and there, just wont turn over. plugs are gapped to .060. Found a faulty ignition module so that got changed too. Vehicle ran before the work was done. Double checked the wires to make sure of good connection. Also checked to make sure it was geting fuel. Its not spinning like the timing is off, its trying to catch here and there, but no luck. Any help would be appreciated

Sounds Like You Might Have Some Wires Crossed. Check & Make Sure Everything Is Ok Around The Distributor Cap Also. Sounds Like It's Electrical Not Fuel. Redo Your Wires & Check On The Cap & Rotor. Good Luck

What Type Of Button Were You Talking About Replacing?

Also could wires be bad? They have been in my garage for about 3 years, and I live in Ohio where the temp is up and down all the time

If The Wires Are On Correct & It Was Running Before You Did The Work I Would Check Back Into Your Dis. Cap & Rotor. Sounds Like Somethings Not Right, There. Make Sure You Didn't Break Or Unhook Any Wires Around The Dis. Cap. Still Sounds Like Electrical. Good Luck

I am assuming that if you say you have a distributor cap that you have the GM HEI cap with the coil in it. Make sure you put the spring and rubber gasket under the coil that keeps the rotor button in contact with the rotor. Also, check and make sure the coil ground strap was installed when you put it in the new cap. Make sure the coil wires are in contact with the plug, sometimes when you plug in the harness to a new cap the coil wires are forced up into the cap instead of engaging the plug. Last thing, check and make sure you didn't pinch your module wires when you installed everything, hope this helps, good luck!!
