View Full Version : Which CTS grill looks best with the V-Bumper?

1. CTS-V grill
2. CTS-sport grill (06)
3. CTS-stock grill
4. CTS-stock grill chromed

I am leaning towards the V-grill just to make things look legit, but that sport grill may make the car look really unique.

What do you all think I should do?

I really like it, but I just don't see enough of them around to make a solid decision. In fact, I have only seen them on line. My local dealer only carries CTS's and V's no sports in yet.

I may chose to leave the grill alone for now then later on make a decision, but part of me really wants to have it all done up and completed.

My first instincts are the V-grille, but I've only seen it and the stock CTS grilles combined with a V-bumper.

Have the bumper wire mesh inset painted to match the grill. Someone here has a V grill on black CTS where the dealership had the mesh painted black...it looks great.

You left off "CTS stock grill - painted body color

I think the new '06 sport grill would look best, but since no one actually seems to be able to get one for a decent price, if at all, my vote is for the stock grill painted body color. It's not 'bling' but shows that while we may have V front spoilers (the main difference between the stock and V bumper), we're not posers.

I like the 06 sport appearance grill better than the stock cts grill and would personally shy away from the v-grill on a v-bumper on a v6-cts. Otherwise you run the risk of shaming the image of the actual V by not performing up to its level.

i'm going to have to see them first before i can make my decision

I get what you are saying. I do like the sport grill, but availability is kinda short. I may not touch the grill for a while and just get the sport grill later on.

Off all the options, I think its the best one... it combines the mesh look of the V without overdoing it.

I left it off because silver smoke matches the stock grill color almost identically. I like that look, I am just looking to refresh the front end entirely. Sort of my way of making the best of a crappy situation (dented bumper).

Yep, you left off the best one. The body painted grill. The reason I bought a CTS was it's new stealthy body lines. Miscreant was the forst to paint his grill, I think. That added so much more to complement the Stealth looks.. specially when hooked up to the V bumper. The V grill in it's self is OK but doesn't look appropriate on a CTS IMO.

I concur with Robert. The painted grill goes more with the Art & Science theme. I do not even like the hood embellishment over the grill, or the chrome piece within the headlight housing, but I guess that American's are not ready to equate luxury with a Cadillac unless it has something shiny and sparkly tacked onto it.

You did away with the chrome strip? The new spt package paints it the body color. I like it.

Yes, but a little bit more...the front end and grill are one piece, this and the eyelids. Next, projector driving lights...to be added...

Should be easy enough to do at a "good" body shop...wouldn't want them to use bondo to hold 2 plastic pieces together.

The actually "fuse" the plastic composite bumper material (and in this case our CTS grill) together and have special flexible filler for this material too.

DC,

I'll do it for you, but I have to go San Diego here shortly, so maybe late this evening?

I don't know if there's a universal answer to this question. I might have a different answer depending upon which color the car is...

Now wasn't THAT helpful?:bonkers:

Here you go without the White Diamond, but with light housing that keeps making the circuit.
