Is it possible to access the DIC and exit the DIC without clearing the codes? If so, could someone tell me how to do that?
Thanks

Thanks Ranger 01-19-06, 09:09 PM HUH? DIC = Digital Instument Cluster. Did you mean onboard diagnostics? It varies a bit with year and model. Night Wolf 01-19-06, 09:20 PM Yeah, you hold OFF and WARMER to get into the diagnostics. for the '85-'93 atleast, if you push AUTO, it will exit and nothing happens. You need to press and hold OFF and HI to clear the PCM codes and OFF and LO to clear the BCM codes. Simply enterting and exiting (probaly by AUTO on all models) does not clear the codes. ewill3rd 01-19-06, 09:27 PM The method of exit depends on the year of the car. On older models pushing "auto" usually dumps you out without clearing. On the 2000 and up you push the center button of the three DIC buttons (Driver Information Center, by the way) to back out one step at a time, three presses should get you back out. Also on the older ones you can press "off" to back out one level at a time, 3 presses should back you all the way out. HTH wooded 01-20-06, 08:41 AM does anybody know the way to do this on a 97 deville turbojimmy 01-20-06, 08:53 AM You can also just shut off the key. That 'exits' without clearing, too.
