How I ended up with it was a joke. My wife wanted a Catera in the worst way. We were in Dallas TX Thanksgiving in 97. We went to the dealership and she found the one she wanted. GM employee pricing...no haggle on price. I told the dealer if he wanted to sell us the car he had to throw in the bird and sell me the cd changer at half price. We got the caddy, ziggy, and the changer (I had to install it myself). Now 260K miles later she wants a CTS and I can't bargain for a stinking bird again!

well they are putting alot smaller engine in the new cts I think it is a 2.8 litter compared to the 3.6 or the 3.2 the earlier cars had.

Uh...no. The base standard engine is the 2.8L V6, but most are still equipped with the strong 3.6L. The two powertrains are almost identical, the 3.6L just being bored out a bit more.

That said, the 2.8L does have 10 less HP than the older 3.2L did (210 vs. 220), but the 3.6L has 255.
