: Trying 265/40/18 All Around - What to look for?

I've got a local shop that is going to put a set of Bridgestone RE050 265/40/18s on the V. They will try the front first and if the rubbing is too significant, then we'll go to a smaller size. As far as rubbing goes, where is this most likely to occur?

I also noticed (according to Bridestone's site) the overall diameter of the RE050 is 26.6" - the same as the stock tire. Now, Tire Rack has it listed at 26.5", so I don't know which is right.

Anyway - thoughts are appreciated.

When you turn, you'll see the tight spots.

Is the rubbing on the suspension components or on the fender or both? I'm an idiot here, so help me out if you can. I'll get to see for myself, but I got the impression from other threads that not everyone has had the same rubbing issues with tire upgrades.

This guy is running 265's in front: http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=499634&postcount=27

And there are 3 RE050 tires in a 265/40/18... the regular non-runflat, a Porchse OEM non-runflat, and the runflat. The runflat Dia is 26.5". And the runflat looks like a pretty narrow tire... you might be ok.

A buddy of mine is running those in the PS2s and hasn't complained of any rubbing at all. I haven't driven the car since the tires but I would be curious if it handles any different, he said it fine. Those tires do bulge a little on the stock wheel but not too bad.
