well, i tried a different dealer this morning and let me say, wow. not only did they offer to completely wash my car, they gave me a 2006 cts loaner while my car was getting it's work done.

the 06 was base, but i just wanted the opportunity to drive the 3.6vvt with manumatic. fun. and let me just say: i hate all of you 3.6 owners. i couldn't stand the non-heated seats or memory options, and not having the bose and 6-disc would suck too...

i can say this...even though my car is a 3.2, i highly believe with the borla and volant i've got much more torque off the line or from a rolling position. there seemed to be a little delay that doesn't exist with mine before you "sh-t and get"

long story short...
one of the things they replaced was the diff, big suprise. no questions asked and no trouble t all. the tech said, "yeah, we stock them...so what does that tell you?" i thought it was amusing.

i'll pick up my car soon but i might keep the loaner for another night to beat on it a little before i take it back. :shhh:

i can't imagine a borla/corsa, volant and headers on the 3.6...man, that'd be nice.

Were you havign problems with you rear differntial??

Did you go to Don Massey out in Plymouth?? There if your car is still under warranty, they give you a CTS or Deville/DTS loaner for free, for 5 dollars a day you can get an SRX loaner or for 10 a day you can get an Escalade loaner.

actually, it was rinke cadillac @ 696 and van dyke. wasn't too much farther from the dealer i bought it from...maybe 5-6 miles...but for the convenience and no hassle...i'll gladly take it back.

i wanted them to look at the differential before i got the headers on...it was kinda shifting funny (little clunkier than usual) so i mentioned it to him. when he called he said, yeah we replaced it, you're good to go. i was pretty excited, especially since my dealer would have hoed and hummed about replacing it. they also replaced the trim at the top left/right of the rear window. it was starting to come a little loose. not admitting to anything, but bass can be somewhat destructive.... =)

Man, I'm gonna have to take a road trip to MI the next time I need any service done.

Yea, Don Massey in Plymouth is great. They work with you instead of against you when you bring your car in for warranty work. My car is in right now for a broken tie rod and some interior trim pieces coming loose. They gave me a 2006 DTS loaner.

My tierod broke while it was being aligned at belle tire and my service writer at Massey (Pete, great guy) offered to take a look at the broken part to see if he can pull any warranty on it even though the retards at Suburban Cadillac in Ann Arbor denied it, fixed it at my cost, and tried to overcharge me 200% of the actual labor and part prices.

Well since we've got the Midwest connection going if you guy's want to take a trip down to Adrian check out Greg Bell Chevrolt/Cadillac. See my last post on the bezel issue. Best service department that I've "ever" dealt with and I've been driving for a loooooooog time.

tripleought, that throttle delay you've experienced with the 3.6l is a common issue supposedly. In the summer time, my car was exhibiting severe throttle delay well past the .5second mark. With automatic, soon as you take your foot off the brake, your car starts to roll. This combined with dc traffic, i had a several close calls. After doing some research here, i was told that cai would solve the problem and guess what, as soon as volant kit was installed most of my throttle delay disappeared.

Btw when i complained about this several times, they said it was a normal characteristics of the throttle by wire system and refused to do anything. I thought it was a big safety issue but i guess cadillac disagrees

Adrian is about 35 miles or so SSW of Ann Arbor or about 30 miles NW of Toledo at the intersection of Rt 52 & 223. Actually kind of close to Michigan Int'l Speedway. We consider ourselves the "gateway" to the Irish Hills and all the lakes. Real nice area in the summer but.... we all know what winter is like don't we :yup:

Detroit meet would be neat. Do I hear "Woodward Dream Cruise" ? Although that's in August. Let's throw some dates/locations out. Any suggestions?

You just want to rub those headers of yours in our faces huh? ;)

Boonies yes (30k people) but we have an Applebees, a Meijers, about 3 McDonalds (and assorted other fast food joints), a Red Lobster, a real Mall with a Sears, 3 institutes of higher learning, 4 real nice public golf couses + 1 private CC that's gorgeous and a couple of decent bars. Not to mention one of the better Cadillac dealers around.

Let's do a meet!! Name the date & place

Almost forgot. 2 NASCAR races a year within 35 minutes of town if your into that!

well, i didn't know MIS was down around there, but i've been there for 3 races many moons ago. back when you could actually walk along the fence-line and get rubber debris from the tires on your face. it was awesome.

and yes, rubbing the headers in will help. why else would i want to do it in the spring? other than the weather, of course...

Make that two people with headers! :p

Late spring is good because we get to show up with clean cars and our summer wheels and tires to show our cars in all their glory. Plus, warmer weather is always better. With all the girls we will attract, it's easier for us to gauge hotness without all the winter clothes getting in the way.

Can you just imagine what all the other folks in the country are thinking about this conversation?? Anyway, when somebody figures out a time/place make a post on it. Maybe we could even get the OH and IN members to join in. (?)

Have to go. It's Happy Hour:D

Adrian? I used to live there. I worked & taught at Adrian College in the early 80's and, much later, a couple of my kids graduated from Adrian High. Adrian is OK, but commuting anywhere else is difficult due to the lack of freeways.

i think maybe mid april would be pretty good...enough time to get the headers installed and for me to hopefully get my wheels...

we need to brainstorm for some ideas. Dates will always change here and there until we get close enough to make a set date. But as long as we know around when (spring time), we can start thinking of what to do. Any suggestions?

could shoot for april 22...

maybe some people will laugh, but theres a multitude of things we might be able to do downtown or so. some of it depends on age of participating members who may come...

tigers game @ comerica park (will have to be weekend after 22nd)
restaurants downtown
kick it and bbq on belle isle or a different park (a metro-park would be pretty sweet w/ lots to do)
hit a couple bars/pubs in the area
greektown, MGM or motorcity casino
do a little cruisin on a strip: jefferson, gratiot (haha), woodward

not sure how much some of you know the metro-detroit area, but every friday and sunday we have car shows around my house at 2 different locations. could always go there and have a nice lineup...although i'm not sure when they start those...might be the summer months like may-august

what esle?

Good suggestions. Anyone know if there's a chance we could get a track day at MIS with our Caddy's?

wow that would be awesome. not sure how much it would cost, though.

it might be more cost effective if we went to Milan Dragway instead...especially if they had places to eat/hang out around the area...and our southern folks wouldn't be too far away.

heres some information to check out:

BIG Newbie question... but since this is an 06 CTS thread...

Does the transmission on the 2006 CTS classify as tiptronic/steptronic/etc? My brother says yes, but a friend says no.

Love my dealer up here in Flint MI, the last few times I've had to take my car in I recieved these loaners:

2005 DTS Loaded
2006 CTS 2.8 Loaded
2006 DTS Base

Loved the '05 DTS. That was a Birthday present from the girl that was behind the counter taking my car in.

Those sound like real good ideas. Belle Isle is really nice once the weather warms up. Detroit has a bunch of places we could just chill out at.
