I just picked up a Volant from slapshot a week ago and it came in today. Now I'm looking for someone who's interested in a K&N unit to take this one off my hands cause I don't need it anymore. After the dyno tests from HaveBlue came out, I'll let it go cheap. $150 shipped obo. Thought I'd offer it to you guys first before I tried putting it on eBay. I've had this intake for nine months, since April of 2005. PM if interested. Thanks.
Here's a pic of it on my old silver green before I switched to the Moonstone.

Can anyone verify that the 3.2 and 3.6 K&N CAI are different? I know K&N has different part numbers for each, but is there a fundamental geometric difference or anything else that would not allow installing a 3.6 intake on a 3.2?

The intake tubes are different between the two.

I'm pretty sure that you'd be able to retrofit a 3.6L K&N into the 3.2L, but you'd have to loose the plastic intake tube. Other than the intake tubes being drastically different, I think the actual filters, brackets, etc are identical.
The 3.6L intake tube goes directly to the throttle body and the 3.2L tube goes down into some long resonant chambers. You'd be able to use the stock 3.2L rubber intake tube to mate to the MAF, although I noticed that the K&N mounts the MAF about 1" further outboard than the stock airbox. You'd have to stretch it a little to make it fit.
Hey guys, so the K&N is still up for sale since waitebe has a 3.2 and this is for the 3.6. It's been sitting in the box in my garage (stored properly), and I kind of want to sell it pretty soon. I'll do $125 shipped to your door. Here's the link to it on classifieds.

Krank,
Is it the newer C.A.R.B. version?

Yeah it's got the CARB sticker on it with a number. Is that what you were talking about?
If anybody is interested, I'm trying to sell it real soon. I may be leaving for college this fall so my family is trying to find someone to take over the lease on one of our CTS', either the moonstone or the silver green, so there's no room for my spare parts to sit around. I'm taking offers so send me a PM if you want to take it off my hands. Otherwise I guess I have to give it away with the car. Thanks.
