ive just recently been gettin these messages, about 10 seconds after driving off:

service stability sys
service suspension sys
service steering sys

the car just flew through our british MOT test and nothing was noted, what do these messages actually relate to and what sensors trigger the messages? thanks in desperation!

can you pull codes for us? Press the On/Off + Warmer to retrieve codes...that way those who will chime in later will be of more assitance. :)

Use these instructions for a '99 Seville. And make the adjustment to RH drive as I have no idea which side of the DIC your buttons occupy.

************************************************** *

DTC display; 1998-2004 Seville and 2000-2005 Deville

Use the 3 switches located to the right of the Driver Information Center (DIC) to activate and respond to the OBD prompts on the DIC.

ON/OFF = YES
INFO RESET = NO
INFO DOWN or INFO UP = manual toggle

Ignition ON, acknowledge any warning messages; press ON/OFF and INFO UP together for 2 to 3 seconds. Everything in front of you lights up for 4 or 5 seconds, then you will see:

Display shows "ALL?"

Answering YES will display "ALL CODES?"
Answering YES will run automatic test sequence and display codes, if any. Systems and codes will scroll faster than I am able to read them and write them; not to worry.
"ALL CLEAR CODES?" will display at the end of the automatic test. If you are satisfied you have the information you need, answer YES to clear/erase all error codes.

Answering "ALL?" with INFO DOWN will toggle systems test manually in order.
Answering "ALL?" with INFO UP will toggle system test manually in reverse order.

Press INFO RESET to reset DIC to "ALL?" to start again.

Ignition OFF to exit.

SYSTEMS: (as of 1998)

ABS (Antilock Brake System)
AMP (Amplifier)
DDM (Door Driver Module)
DIM (Dash Integration Module)

ok thanks for that, i was getting confused coz the warmer cooler buttons are the on/off too!

I reset the codes, and the messages came up again, so i checked them again and i got these 3 codes:

ABS C1233 Current
ABS C1255 Current
ABS C1226 History

C1233 - Right Front Wheel Speed Circuit Open or Shorted
C1255 - EBCM Internal Malfunction
C1226 - Right Front Excessive Wheel Speed Variation

I'd check the continuity of the right front wheel speed sensor first. The wheel speed sensor is integral to the hub & bearing assembly so if it is bad you must R & R the hub & bearing assembly.

is it connected through the same wires as the brake pad warning message? because the connections are missing, but the message has only been up for a few days, its getting worrying now, ive got no ABS, no TC and loads of torque steer.

No. Look at the back side of the wheel. You will see a plug connected to the back of the hub assembly. That is the wheel speed sensor plug.
