View Full Version : Biggest Cadillacs ever? RAMAIR57 12-28-03, 04:39 PM I was wondering what the biggest cadillac made was (not counting limos and stuff). For instance, length, width, wheelbase, weight. Also, what was the biggest coup they ever made. I was looking at some 75's and those things looked huge; it made me think which were the biggest ever. Not including limos, I believe that longest wheelbase belongs to the fleetwood brougham at 121 or something while the widest is the caddy 500. Heaviest, I believe caddy 500. Probably not the longest but impressively large compared to new cars, the 69 Deville is 225 inches and change. davesdeville 12-28-03, 07:10 PM 75 and 76 models for sure. The Devilles had a 130" wb and were 231" long, the Fleetwood Broughams were 133"/234". Sedan Devilles weighed 5146 pounds, F Broughams weighed 5242 pounds. There was also the Fleetwood 75 limo an sedan (which were almost the same), which don't really count, these had 151.5" wb and were 251" long, the limo weighed 5862 pounds. RAMAIR57 12-28-03, 08:28 PM so were the 75-76 coupes the bigest ever too? I think the coupe was the eldorado that year; not sure if there was a coup deville davesdeville 12-28-03, 09:37 PM There were both Coupe Devilles and Eldorados through 1993. The 76 CDV was the same dimensions as the Sedan, but weighed slightly less in 75 and slightly more in 76. The Eldo was offered as a hard top coupe or convertable, and was smaller than the Deville, the Eldo having a 126.3" wb and 224" legnth, and 5153 pounds.
Btw, the weights I gave are for 1975 models, the dimentions are for both years. 19874, 1975 & 1976 Fleetwood Broughams were the biggest. carjunkie14 12-31-03, 03:57 PM What about the 69 ELDO?????THAT THING IS A YAGHT! brougham 12-31-03, 06:36 PM What about the 69 ELDO?????THAT THING IS A YAGHT!

You are right ´67-´69 are 221" - and they are little smaller, than they should be :D DaveSmed 01-02-04, 01:31 PM For some perspective:
Overall Legenth:
'04 Chevrolet Suburban- 219.3"
'68 Cadillac Sedan deVille- 224.7"
'96 Cadillac Fleetwood- 225.0" Andrew60SP 01-03-04, 01:20 AM The '74-79 Continentals were pretty big too at 233". davesdeville 01-03-04, 03:56 AM Yeah the Lincs are huge, I pulled up next to one yesterday, it completely dwarfed my Fleetwood. I thought they were 231" like the DeVilles though. CoupeDevilleRob 01-09-04, 09:26 PM Don't forget to count Caddys from the 1920's and 30's. I don't know any numbers off the top of my head but some of those were pretty freakin big too. As far as I'm concerned though it probably is the 74-76 Fleetwoods. Overall Legenth:

Got a buddy with a 77 Lincoln Town Car Coupe. That's a meaty car... Scrapyard 01-10-04, 06:09 AM Don't forget to count Caddys from the 1920's and 30's. I'm with Rob on this one. I don't have the Catalouge in front of me but I remember seeing some WB numbers in the 130's from some of the old V16 cars. Andrew60SP 01-10-04, 04:47 PM I have the 1934-35 Series 452D, the V16 model, listed at 240" with a 154" WB but I think that may be for the limos. |
