View Full Version : Picking it up on Saturday... pimpcaddy 01-12-06, 03:36 PM Hello All,
I have been lurking for quite some time. Well, the big day is this coming Saturday. I will be picking up a 2005 CTS-v. Platinum with ebony and 2k miles. Thanks to all of those who put in their 2 cents. The dealer will be changing the diff fluid and performing the Wheel hop TSB.
The story behind the car is that a husband bought his wife the V and she didn't like it so they traded it in for an automatic Miata.
To all of the Northern California guys, how about meeting at Hooter's in Dublin?
Best regards,
Dave
P.S. can I change my id to pimpcaddy???? Welcome:welcome: Let the mods begin....the "V" is actually a disease.....I think if you look in WebMd, it is defined there.....
Enjoy.....you'll be on this site everyday......"checking for stuff":lildevil: I'm in Tracy and a meet at Hooter's would be great. Post up some pics if you can of your delivery on Saturday. Flyboy is correct, you will begin to feel the symptoms within a week, guaranteed. :D 50 4Ever 01-12-06, 04:34 PM ...

Maybe late February or early March. I am going to see how long I can hold off doing any mods, but I am sure that you guys will try to tell me otherwise.
Dave Can't believe this hasn't been said yet, but....
You're DOOMED! Trust me when I say this, you will hate driving this car. You would be better off stoping the deal and looking on E-Bay for an early 80's Yugo with a turbo and 12" wheels. They are simply not comparable in their driving experience.
By the way I have a bridge for sale in the Gobi Desert, you can use the money you save on the Yugo :yup: ;)
Congrats on the car, I'm sure the next couple of days waiting will be pure Hell - :lildevil: Welcome:welcome: Let the mods begin....the "V" is actually a disease.....I think if you look in WebMd, it is defined there.....

Maybe they should've called it the
STD-V
A little lotion is not going to fix this! 50 4Ever 01-12-06, 10:20 PM Maybe late February or early March. I am going to see how long I can hold off doing any mods, but I am sure that you guys will try to tell me otherwise.

What you're picking up Saturday is just the "Starter Kit". :histeric: :histeric:
I'm in for a Hooters meeting  calicadi 01-13-06, 03:32 AM Post a date and if I can, I'll be there in Dublin. I'm in Alameda.
We're also trying to put together a track day at Laguna Seca, Thunderhill or Infineon. Any interest? If it's all too new to wring it out, show up any way and if the event allows passengers you can ride with me. Got a helmet? pimpcaddy 01-13-06, 11:23 AM Post a date and if I can, I'll be there in Dublin. I'm in Alameda.

Yes, I have a helmet. I wouldn't mind watching you guys. Are you doing NASA at Thunderhill?

Nothing is scheduled for a group right now. I think Denniscars has signed himself up for some dates in advance. Velose and I are on the fence at this moment. I'm in the process of signing up for the SCCA school at THill in March. I want to get that under my belt before I take to the track with 400 horses. I completed the Bondurant High Performance course in 2003, but that had limited track time and was in the v6 220hp CTS.
With my calendar it's more 'when' than 'where' that's the determinent. If all goes well at the school and the rest of my calendar, an early or late April event would be my first opportunity. Check out this thread.

1st or 28th? It's Saturday, are you still alive or did the anticipation kill you ? :excited: ;)
Hope you get to pick up the car today and take some picks of her !! pimpcaddy 01-14-06, 02:38 PM 10:35 a.m. leaving shortly for a 1 hour drive to the dealer. Didn't sleep too well last night. Yes, I will take pics.
Later,
Dave Calicadi, the 28th sounds good.:D
Redsyclone,
I was wondering if you had forgot to pick it up today. I was going to post to remind you. However I can see the symptoms of "Veonidus" have already begun last night.:D Dennisscars 01-14-06, 03:40 PM pics of smokey burnout...:D pimpcaddy 01-14-06, 10:40 PM All,
Well, we are home safe and sound. It was funny that the Service Manager spent almost an hour trying to activate the alarm. Thanks to the Reed and the FAQ. I guess you could say that I started modding it already. I removed the "I LOVE YOU JOHNNY" message on the start-up screen. Installed the locking gas cap. And lastly removed the alarm and Onstar stickers from the side windows.
Thanks to all. I look forward to meeting you guys. And hopefully, I won't have too much to "whine" about. Ha, ha.
