Hello Everyone,
It looks like I will be picking up an '05 Platinum/Ebony with 2k miles from a local dealer. It has not been serviced in any manner.
I am going to request the following:
Oil change
Diff fluid change
TSB for wheel hop
Check and tighten cradle bolts
Anything else that you guys might suggest????
And lastly, other than the 2nd keyfob and owner's manual, any other items that I should make sure come with the car?
Thanks,
Dave
P.S. I will become a supporting member after I pick up the car :bouncy:
pick up a new rear end, install UUC shifter, replace plastic tube 'tween TB and air intake, and get StealthV tune. You're good to go unless you read this site and start being infected with all the other mods....
If it's got the Goodyear F1 runflat tires and 2K miles on the car, go ahead and get them to do a tire rotation, no use for you to have to pay for one in another 1000 miles.
You may want to reconsider the wheel hop bushings. There has been a problem keeping them lubricated and many V owners have experienced alot of squeaking and groaning noises from the bushings. I have them and have the noises in mild form. Depending on how you intend to flog the car, you may find that you don't need them. If you do a search, you will find alot of posts on the subject of bushings.

I guess you ran the vin?
Yes, it came up clean on Carfax. I have not asked for the service records but will do so tomorrow.
Thanks,
Dave

Have them do a full detail with a few coats of good quality wax to protect it over the winter.

Forget the wax...do it yourself unless you want them to mess it up...I don't trust anyone with my paint! I would however make sure they put the bushings in.

Make sure any of the recalls are taken care of. Ask if they have done any sort of inspection. My dealership does a 27 point inspection. It's basically all lights, wipers, HVAC operation, the condition of all belts, hoses, cables and harnesses, all brake, shock, steering, driveline and suspension components, the tire condition and pressures, all fluid levels -their condition and checks for leakage. Have them check the tire pressure sensors are reporting the proper corner location.
I'd have them check the alignment as well. It's a four wheel alignment. (Cha-ching!) If they won't do it gratis, pay (ask for a discount) for your own peace of mind. No telling how many curbs it's been run in to.
If you're saving a chunk o'change buying it with some miles on it, do the factory authorized mods... FG2 shocks and Corsa exhaust. Then try to stop yourself from doing more mods down the road!
