I was told by the dealer that the 30,000 mile service should be done.
Is this required under warranty?
A) What needs to be done at this point to keep my warranty valid and do the items required HAVE to be done at the dealer or a shop that can give me a receipt in order for there to be "proof" that the service items were indeed performed?
B) What needs to be done regardless of warranty issues.
I just changed my front pads to hawks.
I'm guessing I need to change:
-differential fluid
-transmission fluid
-fuel filter
-air filter
-engine oil and oil filter
What about brake fluid?
What about emissions system (EGR valve?)
Am I missing anything?
Thanks!

check the manual, but I dont think anything is REQUIRED to keep the factory warranty.. Much of that is recommended (tranny, diff, etc) but not required...

The manual has the recommended service...

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?...
Please disregard the post that was here, now deleted. Somehow I got this confused with redsyclone2000. But do check my reply there about a multi-point inspection. It wouldn't hurt and may make points with them. My two cents anyway.

Per the operating manual...the Magnusson must now be added for proper operation and ultimate enjoyment.

There is a page up on Onstar's website (.pdf) that they refer to as a "General Maintenance Schedule" but they also say to refer to the specific owners manual, as Reed mentioned.

I went ahead and made a Word document and template for a maintenance record based on the sample in the owners manual. The difference being someone can print the blank document or use the template to fill in via a word processor and save. It looks like this.

You are welcome to download and use them if you wish. (or anyone else for that matter)

Thanks CIWS I need to start doing that. I'm depending on the dealership to store all records. I just keep the service order docs. I should start keeping a manual record by type of service.

Pay no attention to Florian... he owns stock in Magnusson and is trying to kite his portfolio. Probably has blowers on his Harleys, too.

according to GMlink.com you need the following at 25,000 miles:

Air filter replacment
Exhaust imspection
GM fuel system inspection

Keep in mind this is what they recommend... You can do more, or less..

Every two years I change every fluid in a car, regardless of make. I keep vehicles sometimes as long as 200,000 miles or more. I've never had a "hard" component fail. I get rid of vehicles when the interior starts to fall apart, usually I give it to someone who needs it as they have no value at that point.
The factory recommended maintenance schedule I view as being like US RDA for vitamins. I think they schedule it for a car to last 5 years and 100,000 miles or something. Does anyone believe brake fluid, power steering fluid etc lasts forever? I don't know about the V, but I've seen owners manuals that don't even mention those fluids.
I like the list at the top of the page, if your keeping the vehicle for a long time.
