For a 14 year old car she is in good shape and I've got all kinds of documentation for the model. Plus, why does the wife need a reason to get to O-Town and a spa for the weekend? The meet. I have no interest in races. Until my dream of ownig a Porsche comes true that is. I used to be in to Mustangs and got my fill of all that but I'm done with it for now.

Will there be trophys awarded at this event? If so, any idea how the vehicles are judged?

Also, what time is this event going till? I will probably have to drive back to Miami afterwards to get up for work the next morning so I want to see if it is feasible.

There will be no trophies or judging at this event atleast not on our vechicles. The night that we have our meet on is more for the older cars. We choose a Saturday because it is always easier with peoples work schedules. We are starting the meet at 4:00. The place where it is being held is open until 12:00 to 1:00 AM. There are many other things there to do other than the car show itself. How long you would stay is entirely up to the individual. This meet is for a group of Cadillac forums members to get together, check out eachothers rides, and have a good time. They will be located in the area of cars for show just not on the main strip so there will also be the passerbyes. There is a link on the first post of this thread that brings you to the Old Town website if you would like to check it out. I hope that answered your questions. Thanks

The way it works is like a big square. There is a straight strip where it has 2 sides that people park on each side and then it turns right into a continuation of cars for show and then right again basically surrounding the whole place. The cars for show are all within these areas and guest walk around and look at them as they please. We will be located somewhere within that area with a group of spots roped off for us. At the end of the evening the cars will each pull out of there spots and do a cruise which at that point they will leave or pull there car back into the spots. That is the only part that we can't take part of because we don't meet the requirements for the age of vehicles. It really is a cool place and as these meets really get bigger than I will start making them for our cars to get judged and for raffles to benefit a good cause. Being that this is only our 2nd meet there I hope it will continue to grow each time. Right now I look at it as a get together to check out all of our Caddy's and get to know each other.

I did get these from Marlboro so if we get there early enough we get the pit passes. Last year we got them. We always sit in the grand stand. I will make sure Tom has his phone with him. We will only be there on Sunday. Didn't get the Indy tickets I was hoping for though.....oh well. Did you see that accident on Sunday? I went over to the Fred Howard Park today and got some sun it was nice, and I am going over to Fort Desota this week to so hopefully I can get a good tan. Last year at the races I had no sun exposure before them and man did I get fried!!

yah , if anyone at the dealership had any moral worth they would ....but its a dealership ....i was somewhat ready for it ...i saw we werent gonna hit our numbers ....and i knew things were bad ....but i figured id have more time and i would be able to either knock there socks off and secure my place or find a new job just in case....i didnt get a chance to do either ....

i had a great time tho ....for the first time since i was in the desert i felt great about what i was doing , and had people arund me that not only respected me but listend to my ideas , even implemented a few of them ...my customer alert system will probably live on forever there ....LOL ....

She is doing good. I went over because her Dad is in town. She is buying a Townhouse in Something Creek over there in Tampa Palms. So she says do you want to see where it is? I said yhea sure and she took me to a pile of dirt. I laughed and told her the dirt was beautiful. I said I at least figured they started building. Oh well. got called into the bosses office..... my boss appoligized to me (hes really a great guy ive been impressed with him since i got transferred here), we sat there and shot the shit for a hour , by the time i left there not only did i still have my job but i have a company cellphone coming to me too ...he didnt realize how much i knew about the situation , i knew at the time i was transferred that if we didnt make the numbers i was gone...then yesterday when i was told "just come in and get on the clock so you can make some money" i figured based on all the info i had that it was the end ...what i didnt know was our target numbers were VERY high this month , and that upper management was aware of the situation in the shop (were low on techs and cant get cars in and out on time)...someone somewhere realized there was no way it could have went any beatter this month , and kept me around ...

These are the directions to Old Town for any one that needs them.


From Interstate 4: From I-4, take Exit 64A (old exit 25A) to Highway 192 eastbound for about one mile. Look for the giant Ferris wheel at the main entrance on the right, at Marker #9.
From Orlando Int'l Airport: Take SR 417 to the Osceola Parkway (toll road). Go west approx. 1/4 mile. Then turn South on International Drive. Go 1 mile to the light at US 192. Turn east (left) on US 192. Go straight at the next light (Holiday Trail), and the main entrance is located on your right. Look for the giant Ferris wheel!


I will give the exact location we are located in Old Town. When you have arrived at Old town there will be a light at a road called Holiday Trail you need to turn on that block. You will then follow that block to a road called Florida PLaza. We will turn left on Florida Plaza and will be the first parking lot on the right. It will be roped off for us and possible have a sign with reserved. If you look at the map below we are located directly behind building 400. I know we where discussing meeting up down the road and doing a drive in together, but I wanted to post this for anyone who was running late or didn't want to be involved in that. FSU Noles is looking into what location nearby would be best for our drive over so I will wait to here from him before I post more info on that.

As for any Tampa Members that are driving over to Orlando if we are going to do a caravan then we need to get an idea who is on board for this and exact location and time. I would like to have us at the 2nd location (still being researched) for drive over to Old Town around 4:00 so that gives us something to work off of.

That's what I remembered too. I just wanted to reconfirm so that if any one has any question on this it is fresh. So i am defiantly on board for meeting at flying J truck stop by that RV place. What exit was it again? I know where it is but for anyone that doesn't it would help. I will let you live up the Amy thought.

I went to Old Towne today and scouted for a place that everyone could meet locally and then head to Old Towne together. The trick last time is that we had to do a U-turn and lost half the group.

Here is a map to a shopping center in Celebration, it is located on the same side of the road as Old Towne and looked to have ample parking. There are a number of restaurants and shops around so if anyone needs a snack or a bathroom break it should be available.

Also, I would remind everyone that if you plan on partaking any of the midway festivities to bring CASH MONEY and lots of it. Just an example, bumper cars are $6 per person (single) and go carts are $6 for a single. The big rides like the drag cars or the crazy flying thing would be best addressed by Julie or Stoney. Me and my family left there around 4pm and it was just getting started -- my wife offered me a bib to wipe my drool as the hot rods rumbled by... :worship:

Sounds good. That's what i will say in the pm then. I have one more question for you how bad was the construction or did you even see any? Amy from Old Town told us that where coming from Tampa we would probably be best getting off exit 65(Oceola Prky) Follow the sign to Kissimie. It will bring us out by Gallow Palms and then S. International which we could then follow over to the parking lot Celebration. Just wanted to see how much construction you saw and if we are better off going in from that way.

I don't know never put any thought into it. Should we? I guess when we all do the pre-meet we could figure that out and see what everybody wants.

id just do them by size ...have the allante (pural i hope) first , then like wolfs car , the next biggest ,mine ,andthe big fleets

then CTS's and all the lades on the one end , they look great together , and really they are what will attract all the attention ....

only reason someone would look at mine is to say "what the hell is that doing here?"

It is kinda hard because untill we get there we wont know how the parking lot is set. Will it all be one line? Will there be 2 rows? Will it boxed of as a square. All I know is the Lades should probably be on the inner side so not to block any of the cars. As far as the line up I will leave that to everyone else.:)

Boombotz- I should have my 06' cts-v by the meet...any chance that i can bring both my cars?..I have a friend willing to drive up with me.

Great! I will also remove one of the extra spots for you. As far as where you will meet up that is entirely up to you. That is why I gave directions for each location. I try to make it so everybody has the option of what works for them.

just to throw this in here and add to my post count... i wont be driving my CTS down to FL. it will cost too much in gas and the wife wants to use it up here anyway. i might try renting an XLR for the week or maybe just a few days.

Dont know if any of you are interested but i just found out that on the same day we are having our meet there will be an exotic car show (Bentleys, Ferraris, Lamborginis, etc...) in Celebration which is right next to Old town. The show will be from 10am till 4pm.

Wow. timing is perfect being the start of ours is at 4:00. I wonder if this is going to cause a problem with our pre-meet location at celebration:histeric:. I have seen the exotic car show and it was in the "downtown" area of Celebration which is in the midst of the neighborhoods. We should be fine at our premeet location.

That's a good idea now you can take some time for yourself. Me and Tom are driving Amy I think and she has to work Sunday. Though if we end up not driving her then we will just decide as the night rolls on. Plan as of now will be drive home the same night.

Well as long as your not on a time crunch you can probably follow us back. I really see no reason why we would be staying over night unless we got drunk. Me and Tom are not drinkers plus I will have the baby. So that is pretty much a guarantee it wont be happening. If we did decide to stay for any reason. We would just get you some directions. It really is an easy drive.

What do you mean first come first serve? The 2 individuals early on in this thread responded they were coming. If you look at there online info they haven't been online since like early March or before. All the PM's I sent have not been received by them- not even one to verify that they are still on board. I personally feel as if they either forgot or are probably not interested. Right now, I only have 1 spot left it could actually be 3 . All I am saying is if someone else comes on in the next few days and wants to join should I open up one of there spots for them. It really probably doesn't matter because what is the likely hood of that happening, but on the same note I wanted to get some input back on what every one else thought. Now back to the food issue we figure we will meet you at 12:00 on Saturday in chic fil a parking lot. It really doesn't matter to us which one I eat at. The baby likes both but chic fil a is less messy when we are talking about a 2 year old. Any way after we eat we are going to get Amy at about 1:30 then drive to the caravan area. Then from there off to the premeet location. I am getting the truck detailed on Friday just because it is due for it. I know by the time we get there it will be covered in bugs. Atleast it will be freshly waxed for protection. Ahhhhhhh what are you gonna do!

I can't remember the bar we all used to go to over there, but man they had some good food. I also remember the fire alarms being pulled in the middle of the night by some drunk idiot and standing in 3 degree weather with just some pajamas on. Man, that sucked the good old days. The best place to eat in Tampa is Berns Steakhouse. By far the best Tampa has to offer. There are others that are good but the whole experience at Berns is well worth the money. About $150.00 per couple priced with no liquor. Make sure you take the tour of the kitchen and wine cellar. Largest selection of wine in the country. Me and the wife are willing to meet you there if you are treating. :rolleyes: No but seriously you have to try it.
