I have been recieving the P0147 code. Replaced the O2 sensor using a Bosch.Unfortunately the code still comes up. Do I need to go to the Delco sensor? Or. is it a problem with the heater circuit? :bonkers:

General consensus is to ues an A/C Delco sensor. Bosch sensors have been reported to cause problems as they may be calibrated differently.

If the code is showing up as History while the car is running and at full operating temperature (say after a 20 minute drive), then the problem is resolved. If it shows up as Current, it's still a problem. I have heard of problems with Bosch sensors, and in general I think it's best to stick with one brand or the other, but it seems unlikely that any new sensor would have the exact same problem as the old one. Check the code with the engine running after a 15-20 minute drive and let us know. You could also clear it and see if it comes back.

Just to make sure that I have the right sensor Duh! OBD II says that it is bank 1 sensor 3. The dealer said that that is the sensor just in front of the converter. Elsewhere on this site I've seen that it is the post converter sensor. Can anyone clarify this? Thanks

The Bank 1 Sensor 3 sensor is the one AFTER the catalytic converter. The same part number sensor works in both positions, though, so if they did change out the wrong one, you can swap those two and it should be fine. You will probably need a small amount of anti-seize lubricant to put on the threads when you reinstall the two sensors, but be careful not to get the anti-seize lubricant on the sensor head. The swap job is pretty easy to do if you have ramps or a jack and jackstands, the O2 sensor socket which can be borrowed from most parts stores, a ratchet, maybe a short extension, and a 10mm socket to remove the bolts that hold the shield in place around the rear sensor.

The sensor before the converter is the Bank 1 Sensor 2 sensor. Maybe you can rub that in the dealer's face since their experienced, probably ASE certified mechanic apparently wouldn't be able to find his ass with both hands, a map, and a flashlight. That happens way too often.

I'll give it a try tommorrow. Hopefully, This will work as the emission test deadline is coming quickly. I'll let you know if the code stays off this time.

It's been 72 hours now. After clearing the codes my SEL has not come back on. Thanks for all the help.:D
