View Full Version : Got into an accident with a GARBAGE TRUCK!!! Pimpin_Whity 01-10-06, 10:52 PM i wanted to go look at the beach at night to think some things through. so i'm going down Ocean Ave. (2 lanes both ways). well, i'm in the left lane doing like 40mph (i believe i was the only person going in that direction) and i see a garbage truck going towards me, but think nothing of it. well when we are just about to pass each other he turns straight into me, all i had time to do was swirve a lilttle bit to the side and get hit right after my door. turns out he needed to get into a "driveway" to get garbage and didn't bother to notice me on the opposite lane :cookoo: . well, as you can see in the pics that didn't go all that well :ill: , he had one of those sharp steel bumpers. the good in this is that they paid for all the damage and i added an extra $5,000 for a full pint job. the body shop i went to had a spray booth and oven, the car is now finished and looks really nice. the finish they gave it is amazing, that thing is as smooth as glass now and i added some silver and gold metal flake for extra sparkle, picks don't really do it justice but i'll post some when there's a sunny day and i have time to take them. I~LUV~Caddys8792 01-10-06, 11:31 PM damn dude looks like it really took a bite out of your beautiful eldo :(
but it will all be good again! :) Ouch, hate to see that happen to a Cadillac. Got any pics of the new paint? CaddyCrisis 01-11-06, 01:34 AM That sucks dude!! Good thing they paid for all of it and that added the extra $5,000. DopeStar 156 01-11-06, 02:33 AM Haha wow, now that's the way to get hit. actually the garbage company paid for it (it was a private company, not city). but i was surprized that i didn't have to go through insurance and police reports to get my money :) powerglide 01-12-06, 04:25 AM So they paid 5Gs plus the body damage.....whats that like 8G's total?
If you went with the insurance company they would have probably totalled it right?
That worked out quite well for you! Pimpin_Whity 01-12-06, 10:10 PM well, i don't have full coverage on this car. but since it wasn't my fault at all, the garbage company insurance would have paid for it and i might have been able to make some money. but since i didn't get hurt or anything it probably wouldn't have made any difference CaddyCrisis 01-12-06, 11:32 PM well, i don't have full coverage on this car. but since it wasn't my fault at all, the garbage company insurance would have paid for it and i might have been able to make some money. but since i didn't get hurt or anything it probably wouldn't have made any difference
NO FULL COVERAGE?? That sounds insane with that nice of car. I guess it doesn't hail and storm a lot in brooklyn like it does here in the middle of nebraska. But aren't you afraid that someone is going to come bash it up? Pimpin_Whity 01-13-06, 12:56 AM NO FULL COVERAGE?? That sounds insane with that nice of car. well, i dont drive to college. the car sits on a driveway and when i just need to go to the store to get some groceries i take the family beater (a 92' 5.0 T-Bird :thepan: ). and when i do go shopping i park at the very end of the lot where there's no cars, and if the lot is full i turn around and go somewhere else or home (it's been done :shhh: ) CaddyCrisis 01-13-06, 01:17 AM well, i dont drive to college. the car sits on a driveway and when i just need to go to the store to get some groceries i take the family beater (a 92' 5.0 T-Bird :thepan: ). and when i do go shopping i park at the very end of the lot where there's no cars, and if the lot is full i turn around and go somewhere else or home (it's been done :shhh: )
So you just drive your car every once in awhile and when you do you have to avoid everyone. Sounds like you need the full coverage and stop worrying. I~LUV~Caddys8792 01-13-06, 01:51 AM dude that thing tore through the eldo like Ron Jeremy would tear through a virgin!
