05 Cadillac Escalade
01-06-06, 11:42 AM
I think it looks good. I like how the Escalade and Escalade EXT have those vents on the side. Really makes the car look a lot better. The 07 Escalade style is definitly growing on me. I think it will grow on everyone.

Thanks.

The ext looks way better then the base navilade. The back is nice but the sides not all that great.

Throw some 26's on there, I may like the new EXT also. Who had the rumor going around saying there wasn't going to be a 2007 EXT...??

Anybody know the pricing on them?
Just returned from my local Cadillac dealer.
They said the EXT and ESV are not being built yet so they can only get pricing,.. or put orders in, for the regular Escalade.
They won't be able to do anything until March after the regular Escalades start showing up on the lot.

Overall I like the look, but noticed a few things. First, the back end for the most part appears to be the same as current version, no real change from the c piler back. I would also appear that the tail lights are not LED, and the hitch is completely open. To me it looks like they redesigned the Escalade and bolted on the rear of the EXT from the current model.

Man, I thought I liked it at first, but now I dont know. I dont know why, but it reminds me of a big honda ridgeline for some reason. Ill have to see it in person.

Thats what I was thinking.

I don't know if the pics have been sized wrong but something don't look right.

Too much damn chrome on that thing, between the side strip, handles, vents, running boards....it would look SO much better if they left the sides the way they were....

I don't like it as much as I initially liked the Escalade. The newer style will eventually grow on me though.

ETA: I believe GM did a nice job on the design overall. I like it.

Yeah I started thinking the same thing.
I think it's the part of the tail light that wraps around onto the side of the rear fender.
On the present model it has a slant forward and blends more with the style of the vehicle.
In the 2007 picture, the tail light is straight up and down and gives the back of the vehicle a boxed wagon look.

I think the new Escalades look damn sharp already.. They don't have to grow on me, I liked them from the first spy shot when you could only see the side and the rear. And with the performance upgrades (405 horsepower), hands down the Escalade is still the hottest SUV around.

Reminds me of a Honda Ridgeline.

That middle row window seems super small, or the back just looks big...!?"

Just seems a little out of proportion if you ask me.

Wow that "all 3 model pic" is weak compared to the current 02-05 "all 3 model pic".
The Lade just looks too toned down
I have my 02 just sitting around since I have a 06 SL now..I wish they wouldn't have sloped down the hood and removed all the molding. I guess I may just have no SUV for a while after I sell.
That ESV looks best of the 3 IMO but still not breathtaking like the 02's were back in the day...they need a V edition bad. It will be wierd to see all the 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation Lades out on the street together...kinda ruins the whole highline image if that kind of stuff matters to you. 3 generations and 7 models in 7 or so years is nuts...
Maybe I'll wait for the 4th generation....but I doubt it will suck me in like my 02 did.

I agree with you Lade. The 02 is by far the best and most appealing Escalade design ever. I would choose an 02 over any newer or older Escalade model.

As I said about the standard 07' Escalade, much better looking than the present model. ;)

Not to fond of the regular-style '07 'Lade

But the EXT & ESV kinda make me wish I didn't get an '05 so soon :(

The new design still has a little bit of growing to do with me, cause i still like the G2 design, but overall they're ok http://www.clubcivic.com/board/images/smilies/what.gif. Can't wait to see the bogus cadillac dealer down here get one :D

I hate to say it, but the regular 07 doesnt look as hideous as some say, but that "thing" they are calling an EXT looks like trash. I think they stole the taillights off of my OBS 99 and put them on there. Maybe they thought they could use the extra parts.

The new ESV front end looks way to short for the rest of the body compared to my 03.

WTF is up with the back of all of these having the side cladding but the middle doesnt???

Yup, looks like a Ridgeline to me.
