I have the leather trim and the kids hate the smell. Is there a way to fix that?
Thanks:hmm:

I can't think of anything positive to say so I guess I'll just shut the ole pie hole!

Just find a fragrance that they like in addition to you, and spray/etc. in the car. I carry a small Fabreeze pump sprayer in my SRX, although my use is to cover up my cigarette smell so the wife will stop bit*hin' ! Works great!

Odd -- most people like that smell!

It does go away over time. Probably if you air out the car when it's sitting in the garage, it'll leave more quickly.

I'd say it was about 4-6 months before my car no longer smelled "new".

If they are young kids, the smells they generate from food, drink, and/or bodily functions will soon replace the leather smell. If they are older kids, tough, they are moving out soon.

Oh well, when your kids grow up, they can buy their car without leather.

Could be a good thing. Especially if they are at or near driving age.

The more the car is closed up the longer it lasts.
My car will be 2 years old in March and the leather(did you know Cadillac adds a perfume to it, and calls it nuance leather?) still has a smell that is a cross between a saddle and a cigarette.

I use Lexol cleaner then conditioner every 3-4 months and it still has the same nuance smell it had when I bough it.

I would just buy some kind of spray or freshner and hope for the best.

Caddy adds the scent, they say it will last up to 10 years. I like it myself.
