MCeasar, I´m a German and right now in Germany lol.
I´ve only seen it on GM-BUY-POWER and I´ve checked over all US and that`s the only one at a dealer.
Good you answered, I want to wish you and all other forum members
A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR
Harry harryctsv 12-31-05, 01:56 PM MCaesar,

Good! You may be the first to actually do a test drive of the STSV on the autobahn when its available. Let us know what you think. I have driven lesser cars on the Bahn in Germany - but it certainly lets you test the limits of any car if you have the nerve. harryctsv 12-31-05, 04:21 PM Good! Sure I have the nerve!
I´ve had 3 C5 Vette`s
98 Vette Coupe auto 289 kph top speed 179 mph
01 Vette vert auto 297 kph top speed 184 mph
02 Vette vert 6 sp 304 kph top speed 189 mph
Now I have a 04 XLR with Corsa exhaust - top speed 289 kph ( 179 mph) this is the export model, not governed. Analog stops at 260 kph but HUD goes up to 289 kph
Hope the export XLR or STS V is not governed, if yes i`ll keep my XLR or might get a C6 Z06.
Happy New Year

The next time I'm in Germany, I'll keep my eye out for you. For now I'll have to settle for the roads in Colorado which are now treacherous in the mountains.
Happy New Year to you as well.

OK Rich, if you ever in the Wuerzburg/Nuernberg area just come up and see me, we`ll go for a ride on the autobahn:welcome:
I hope you`ll like doing 60 miles in 27 minutes:cool2: , I did this with my 02 Vette.

I was in Munich in the fall of 2004 for Oktoberfest and have been to Frankfurt several times. Last time I was in Munich I rented a BMW 3 series and traveled mostly the small back roads along the Austria/Germany border around Garmisch, Fussen, and Lindau at Lake Konstanz. Great scenery and some twisty roads in the Alps. I did manage to drive ~100 miles on the autobahn during this trip. I think I did average near 120 mph on one stretch which is great if you need to catch a plane.
Haven't been to Nurnberg - if I get up that way I'll let you know. Maybe you'll have your V by then.

Hi Rich.
you mean lake Bodensee, Konstanz is a town there.
Wuerzburg/Nuernberg is between Frankfurt and Munich, so the next time you here watch out for the sign Kitzingen, that`s where I`m.
I go a lot for business in the Frankfurt area and from Aschaffenburg - Frankurt, where the 3 lanes begin I usually get my car 0ver 160 mph there.
The look in my back mirror makes anything shrink fast:histeric:
Have a nice week

woooww msheri01, nice color combination. Try to do some pics of it soon, because you will not see it long on the dealers lot.

Harry, I'll see what color they have when I call. I wonder what the salesman will do when I whip out my camera........he'll probably make me buy the car :bouncy:
Edit: Nice pics. I think the car would look even hotter with the CTS-V wheels! harryctsv 01-03-06, 02:46 PM Harry, I'll see what color they have when I call. I wonder what the salesman will do when I whip out my camera........he'll probably make me buy the car :bouncy:

Kadonny, I saw these wheels in Frankfurt at the IAA, they also look good, but you`re right, the STS V 8 on our export model have the wheels and brembos from the CTS V, and they also look good.

And I was just about ready to pull the trigger on a CTS-V, but now I MUST go drive the STS-V just for sh**s and giggles.
Hell, I did the lease calculater on the Cadillac site and it will only be about 250 more dollars a month for an STS-V over the CTS-V. But performance is where I still think the CTS wins. We had a platinum/ebony STS-V arrive today. It is very sharp!!

Harry,
How can the CTS V wheels (18" dia) fit the STS V which uses 19" dia and wider tires in the rear?

Please let me know after your first test drive of the STS V.
Yaeh, I think of what I´ve seen in the first road-tests of the STS V the performance numbers almost the same as of the CTS V. At least they are very close.

Rich, you did a little miss-reading:)
The export V8 STS got for standard wheels the original 6 lug CTS V wheels and makes the car looking great. They also have the Brembos of the CTS V.
Take a look at my gallery, I;ve posted some pics there.

So you're talking a regular STS - not a STSV. I think the wheels and Brembo calipers on the STSV look great as is. I wouldn't change them - although I am kind of partial to my CTSV wheels which match the platinum paint perfectly. I would never go to chrome aftermarket wheels with the platinum paint.
By the way - where is your gallery? harryctsv 01-05-06, 05:58 AM So you're talking a regular STS - not a STSV. I think the wheels and Brembo calipers on the STSV look great as is. Hi Rich,
go on Cadillac Images, klick STS and STS V pictures
go to page 6 / 15 and 16 there you`ll see a moonstone STS and a plat. STS with switzerland plate, this was the first STS V8 I drove.
Have a nice day
Harry Kadonny 01-05-06, 11:06 AM Talked to the dealer this morning, the car is coming in on Saturday or Monday.
Bad news though (for me at least), he kept saying about how this was the only STS-V on the east coast currently. I read between the lines and to me that spells "over sticker" pricing. If thats so, then I hope they find a willing buyer because I'll stick to my CTS-V. harryctsv 01-05-06, 11:45 AM Talked to the dealer this morning, the car is coming in on Saturday or Monday.

You are right, I`ve never bought or would buy a car "over sticker" but many experience I´ve made is, if the car costs 80 K and you be able to write a check over 77 K the deal is done:yup:
The only one I`ve seen on GM BUY POWER is the one in Pompano Beach Fl.
They bringing them to the dealers very slowly.
Harry msheri01 01-06-06, 08:14 AM According to the truck driver that brought the one to our store, there are only about 100 STS-V cars built right now. They get all the cars from Lansing Grand River for shipping. harryctsv 01-06-06, 08:40 AM According to the truck driver that brought the one to our store, there are only about 100 STS-V cars built right now. Hi msheri01,
is the platinum/black not sold jet?????
GM europe told me the first STS V`s should be here in Germany arround june 06.
Harry This thread helped me realize how I feel about the STS-V. I'm not happy now. There used to be one car carrying around the V flag, now the exclusivity isn't the same. Still happy to have a V period but the shine is getting dull.:crying:
Congrats to all you STS fans that are getting what you were wishing for. Talked to the dealer this morning, the car is coming in on Saturday or Monday.

You know whenever a dealer says that they're lying. My dealer got their STS-V last week (next one is comming soon and if I remember correctly their 1st XLR-V is scheduled for production this week) and they got full list for it. Actually, this STS-V was sold before it got there as is their 1st XLR-V. They want full list nothing more and nothing less (atleast for the first few that trickle in). I heard from my local dealer that there's an XLR-V on Ebay already selling for $25k over dealer asking price, and I don't think they're asking MSRP either. There's always someone that can't wait or won't look around....
If you want an STS-V or XLR-V and you don't want to be jerked around PM me and I'll give you my dealers contact information. They're getting 3 or 4 of them (XLR-V's) and they want full list. Kadonny 01-11-06, 12:19 PM Well, Chesrown is offering his for under sticker. Encouraging. The dealer here has not called me back yet. So (a)it did not come in as stated or (b)they sold it. It has the two tone interior.... harryctsv 01-12-06, 03:17 PM It has the two tone interior....
and that looks good on light platinum and black raven!!!
My choice would be light plat. with ebony/tango red.

Ok.......not sure what you are saying. Are you saying they are discounting it because it has the 2 tone?
I could accept the 2 tone. Not my first choice, but I could live with it. Ok.......not sure what you are saying. Are you saying they are discounting it because it has the 2 tone?

The comment was more of a joke than anything else.
Last year a few interior pics were posted with the Tango red interior and alot of people including myself hated it. It's like the new BMW 5 series in that brown / bronze color, otherwise known as baby shit brown :D and the first thought that crosses my mind is "he must have got a good deal on that one".
Obviously someone will like it, or atleast enough to buy it after the discount. msheri01 01-13-06, 07:46 AM Hi msheri01,

Harry, The car was a sold order, but the gentleman who ordered it changed his mind before the car was built, but after it was scheduled. I have not been to work yet this week, my father-in-law was killed in a very bad car accident this past week, so we have been dealing with all of that mess. Will let you know after today. harryctsv 01-13-06, 08:03 AM Harry, The car was a sold order, but the gentleman who ordered it changed his mind before the car was built, but after it was scheduled. Does it actually have a good fit and finish?
Some of the gaps on regular sts interior with plastic is just not acceptable.
Maybe my father might want to get something like this instead of c6 rayainsw 01-25-06, 08:09 AM My Dealer (North East of Atlanta) says they had 2 - sold 1.
Both black.

Fit and finish is excellent. I assume you are referring to the upper trim at the top of the door panel when you are referring to plastic? This area is leather covered, the stitching does not show well in the photo I posted. This car is beautiful. Devil_concours 01-27-06, 10:42 AM Fit and finish is excellent. that's what i was referring to. Plastic trim was a design mistake by cadillac imo. What about the panel gaps on the right side of the center nav console near the glove compartment? | |
