Fuel line to fuel filter twisted and broke. The fitting was rusted and would not spin. Any suggestions?

Fuel line to fuel filter twisted and broke. The fitting was rusted and would not spin. Any suggestions?You can get another fitting with a length of tube, just enough for two small hose clamps. With a tubing cutter, cut the damaged line back where it is still round and sound, then replace the missing line with a nice length of stout rubber fuel line, use two clamps on each end to ensure a good seal with the moderate fuel pressure.

Be very careful to check for leaks once you are done.

Appreciate the suggestion, Kev. Very shortly, will pick up a Motormite fuel line repair kit (aka Quick Disconnect) and line cutter. Will post further after repair. Thank you. :thumbsup:

Purchased the metal Quick Disconnect kit and tubing cutter. Kit was a little over $12. Cutter was almost $7.

Removed the brake cable clamps from under body. This allowed the various lines to free up. Most importantly, the fuel line to hang down allowing room for a cutter to spin around.

Cut the fuel line on car between the fuel filter outlet and first plastic line clamp(holds other steel lines as well). Cut the new line to fill the missing portion. Installed the fittings and fuel lines.

Yes, there was gas seepage at the fittings as warned. Tightened and re-checked. Still leaked slightly. Repeat inspection and continue adjustments. No more leak! Will keep an on it for the next several days.

That's great! Glad you got it fixed. Now be sure and change that filter regularly to that you don't have this problem again. Plus, fuel filters are cheap but valuable maintenance for EFI systems.
