Interesting. And I thought everyone hated GM products because they were such terrible resellers.

I dont understand how they judge this

Worst cars of 2005:

Kelley says that after five years, a 2006 Freestar will retain only 21% of its original value.

Does this make it one of the worst cars? NO! It just means it doesnt hold its value. If this was the case my Phaeton is a terrible car.

The rest of it is fine, I just dont think they should don it a bad car because it doesnt hold value.

Thats like saying "All Audi cars are bad because they have a terrible dealer network"

Ok, *gets off soap box*

How about my list for ugliest? These are all cars you could by this year

Pontiac Aztek - That is so damn ugly. I can't imagine how someone would go to a dealer and buy something that ugly and even make payments on that trash

Kia Amanti - it looks like a Bens E class and a Jag S class had a Down syndrome baby. Just terribly ugly.

Chevy Aveo (SP?) – You’ve got to be kidding. Not even worth the words.

Ford Taurus – It’s boring and ugly.

Dodge Neon – Ugly, unsafe, unattractive.

I still don't see how residual value has anything to do with the car being bad. Just tells you that either it isn't a desirable car (like an Escort or Taurus or Lumina, etc) or there is always something better and there is a high demand to get a new one not an older one. Worst assumes that the car is either unsafe or unrelaible, not just low value for the $ spent.

Heck, if that is the case, most of the imports fall into that catagory. What little you get for the high $$ you spent!

Exactly!

That only thing that bothered me was the residual value!

My Mercedes was the best car in the world at the time it was new, it sold for £100k+ now its worth about 10% of that, and im damn sure that doesnt make it a bad car!

I paid $2800 for my '87 SDV. It's still worth $2800. Guess that makes it one of the best cars ever!

Judging cars by investment return? Good Lord. Forbes should know better.
