Whoa, sorry about that... I just did a quick glance on ebay and saw them. They are *not* timeserts. Sorry... Glad you didn't buy it - stick with timeserts.

They look like they would work as well as timeserts. The locator plate isn't as good but people have said you don't really need the plate anyway. Carefully drilling into the holes is accurate enough as you are following an existing hole.


Where are you located? Maybe there's someone close to you that could loan you a kit. You'd have to get the inserts quickly.

How far does the timesert go into the block? The ones in the picture are about 1 3/4 long. It looks like a good product for 200 dollars savings. I think I'm going to use them.

I don't have a timesert here but they look quite a bit longer. That's why I think they are good. That extra depth may make them better but I can't say that with certainty.
