I just read that the 2006 Lade's get a 6.2L L92 V8 with 395-400 hp.
Awesome. Looks like LS7 technology meets the smaller engines!
Excellent!!

If the new lade uses a 6.2 wouldnt that make it bigger? N0DIH 01-04-06, 12:17 PM The 5.7L is dead. The Vette is 6.0L or 7.0L (Z06) powered now. The 6.0 Escalade motor (LQ4) is growing up to the L92, which is 6.2L. Not sure if the Vette will get the 6.2 displacement, I'll have to dig on that one. But a lot of the goodies (ports) on the LS7 is finding its way to the L92. So it is making a 50 hp jump in power for 0.2L of displacment. caddycruiser 01-08-06, 05:21 PM The 5.7L is dead. As far as I know, it's going to serve a lot of truck and SUV duty, and stay away from the cars--just like the current truck's 6.0L did. The Vette's 6.0L is already at 400hp anyway; just look for more to come its way, a little bit at least, in the future. Nyberg 02-04-09, 03:07 PM hi i have a escalade 2006 i thougt i had the 6.0L engine, but its registred whit 410hk, can i have the 6.2L engine then ?? i live in sweden and i thougt they just put it wrong when importing car.. N0DIH 02-04-09, 03:28 PM IIRC the 6.2L (RPO L92, look in your glovebox) was only in the newest body trucks (current gen). If you see LQ9 (I would expect to) that is the 6.0L HO. If you have a 6.2 in your 2006, it would shock me. Also, quite honestly, I think the 403 HP rating is conservative. My 07 will do a 0-60 run consistently in 6.5 seconds. Nyberg 03-04-09, 05:06 PM i had the 6.0L engine. TSS 03-05-09, 09:54 AM i had the 6.0L engine. That is a good proven reliable engine. Until the 6.2 came out, also the most desirable GM truck engine IMO. N0DIH 03-15-09, 10:10 AM Still wanna stab a 6.0L LQ9 in my Fleetwood..... And my 99 K2500 454 Suburban.... carnuted 10-23-09, 04:06 PM Are any of the internal engine parts of the 6.0/6.2 interchangeable with the older 96-99 5.7 Vortec engines? I know the blocks and head port configurations are different, but I am wondering about the head bolt pattern, bell-housing pattern, and crankshaft. I have a 98 5.7 in a 70 olds with a roller cam and aluminum (aftermarket) heads, and am just wondering about other swap possibilities. N0DIH 10-23-09, 04:14 PM No, they are not related in any way shape or form. You can get a 5.3L LM7 for chump change @ car-part.com, I have seen >50K mile complete engines for $400. | |
