: I hate to do this - 265s on the front question...

I have searched the forum and found some good discussions. I could not find one that definitively said whether or not we could squeeze 265/40/18s on the front without rubbing. I thought I had seen a thread before with some info on this. If anyone can direct me there, I would greatly appreciate it.

I don't track this car and I rarely corner at full lock. If there is rubbing with this size, where would I see it and what long term problems would/could this cause?

With stock rims 265s will not fit on the front as far as I know.

I believe that Evil8 did this with spacers up front. I also remember him either rolling the fenders and/or having slight rub issues.

Thanks for the responses. That's what I needed to hear. I really want to stick with a runflat, but I also want to go a bit larger all the way around. 255/45/18 would be perfect, but I don't see a runflat in this size (max performance). The RE050 runflat does come in 265/40/18... that's where I was going with this.

You can get a 275/40 on the back with no problems at all which even comes about as close as you can get to retaining the stock circumference(no stabilitrak issues).

Dang... you're question came a couple weeks too late for me. Some time ago I did a search of the entire site, writing down different choices people had made. Then threw it away... what a dope! I threw it away because I came to the same conclusion you just did, so you're not missing any great revelation. We should be able to go 265/40/18X9 all around without issue. To go 275 all around would required revised front spindles.

I recently replaced my worn out F1's with RE050A's on the stock rims in 245/45/18 size. These will be my daily driver and wet competition tires. For dry competition I'm going with BFG T/A KD's 265/40/18 all around on 18X9 rims. And of course I won't be 100% certain they don't rub 'til I try 'em out!
