I know it's the 'law' to have a front plate (at least the last I checked it was). Do you still leave the front plate off? They just look so ugly up front!
Oops sorry, I voted as someone from Illinois not knowing that it was for CTS-V owners only. Personally I would not mount one on the CTS-V if I had one. I own a 97 STS and 96 DeVille and do have front plates on both of the cars. However I plan on purchasing a C5 very soon and have no intention on mounting a front plate.
StealthV, I saw a post about an alternative plate mounting you did on the front end. Do you have any prints/drawings/plans for how you did it? I have access to a machine shop and may be able to fab something up that looks clean like yours does without drilling holes in my bumper. f2000keith AT gmail DOT com.
Every so often I get the trifecta: no front plate, tinted windows, and no seatbelt. About every 1-2 years. That averages like $100 per year. I'm buying the right to have no plate. Think of it as a no-plate, full tint tax.

In Ohio, Im able to cut the bottom of the plate off as there is no info that they need, this allows my front plate to fit in the lower grill. Can you do that and make your plate fit there as well? Food for thought.
Florian, How were you able to discover what is legal regarding being able to cut your plate down? I did that on one of my Mustangs way back when. I trimmed it down to the point where it looked almost like a Euro plate and bolted it to the black plastic skirt (air dam?) that was under the front end.
Legal? who knows. All I can tell you is that all the pertinent info is still on my plate (state and plate #). I dont know what else they need. I have yet to be stopped with it that way.
