View Full Version : Front right speaker shorting/cutting out...?

I have '92 SDV, and sometimes when I hit small bumps when I'm driving the front right speaker will cut out, or start hissing/crackling like it's not getting any radio connection. When I hit another bump it usually fixes itself...

Sometimes it'll go a week without shorting at all, but some days every bump I hit makes it cut out/back in. Is there any way to fix this myself? I've looked at the wires in the door that are right near the speaker...but I have no idea what could be wrong with them.

Ideas?

could be the connections on your radio too, or the radio itself.

well, I had the same problem too, but my head unit was a jenson. I put in a Kenwood and didn't change any wiring at all, except the harness.

The problem dissapeared & my FM started recieving channels too. Before all I could do was listen to CD's.
