We just got to Carlsbad, NM, from Seattle, WA, via Boise, ID, Salt Lake City, UT, and Albeq, NM. The total is about 1,700 miles. Average speed is just above 60 mph, and during sustained periods on the highway, went between 70-80 mph. Weather conditions were good, although at times I felt that we were driving into the wind.

Anyway, with all that said, our average MPG was 19.2! This is for an AWD V8, which is rated at 15/19, so basically right on the money. Pretty happy, all things considered. The SRX's a great road vehicle, especially with satellite radio (wonderful during those stretches in the middle of nowhere), and the NAV.

Is this based on the MPG given on the information center (which I don't trust) or by figuring the mpg yourself?

We have a V-6 AWD which has registered on the info center as being 22 mpg on a long road trip.

I got 19.9 avg round trip to FL & back on my V8.

Connecticut to Georga on Rt95 hightest gas Loaded with luggage for 2 with air on going about 75 to 79 MPH.About 18 to miles to the gallon checked with computer and by pencil VERY CLOSE to the same numbers.2005 SRX V8 AWD Loaded with all options.My Cadillac 2004 EXT was at about 16 MPG same trip speed fuel ect and MUCH more comfort. At about 2 miles per gallon difference on the highway what are your feelings about that?Both had about 8000 miles on them.
