I have an 01 Catera and about 3 weeks ago I got the check engine light. Took it to Autozone and they pulled it as P0171. I had them reset it and it's been running fine. Today, I had the same thing happen. I'm thinking one of the O2 sensors maybe, but which one? Any help?

Runs fine when cold and warmed up.

Thanks!

Greg

OK, well, just so I'm contributing... it turned out to be the MAF sensor.

How did you find out it was the MAF?

There should be an accompanying code when the MAF is faulty.

Well, when my MAF went out, I got a code. I guess I was lucky.

If I am not mistaken its one of the P0100 variation. It's not exactly P0100 because if I am not mistaken that code means that the MAF is not giving any reading. What i got is saying something like the reading that the MAF sensor is giving out is inaccurate. And in my analysis it's probably correct because, I had the MAF sensor checked by a friend of mine with a TECH 2 scanner and he said that the MAF sensor is working and is actually giving out readings. I thought that the readings are out of whack that is why i am getting rich mixture at the Oxygen sensors.
