I held a seminar for attorneys at the Friar's Club this morning in NYC. On my way back to the office, I found the Park Ave Maserati/Ferrari dealer...place looked like a museum. They had a few cars inside so I needed to walk in and take a smell.

There were a few motors on stands by the windows....breathtaking!

Red F430 Spyder...could be the most beautiful car I've ever seen with my own eyes. For a moment I really was stunned. I also saw a silver Maserati Coupe. Without a doubt, if I could swing the payment, I'd have to get one. The interior was top-notch, the lines...in person, were a sight to see. And the motor....you want sexy...take a peek at one of those, absolutely georgous.

And there were three salespeople...one guy in a suit, and two women who looked like they could have been strippers in classy clothes. Unreal.

The brunette asked me if she could help me...
"Not without a retainer for my wife's divorce attorney"

It was a great morning...

Yeah, there's a Ferari/Maserati/BMW dealer just down the road from me here in NY. Last time I was in there, they had an F40 sitting in the showroom, right when you walk in the door. Over on the BMW side, they had a Z8, and an 850CSi, and they had a Maserati Spider there as well. There were a few other Ferrari's and stuff floating around the showroom, but I can't remember what they were, since I was captivated by the F40.

My all time #1 dream is a Maserati Quatroporte. You were at 5th Ave & Lexington, in NYC ? There's the corporate showroom there.

ummm you have to go back and get brochures! No matter how hard it is to get them!

When I was out at a Ferrari/Maserati dealer in England, I got some Maserati brochures, but I didnt find the Ferrari brochures, im sure they have them somewhere though, probably hidden :/

That is about 3 blocks from my building. I walk past almost everyday during lunch. There is the Park Ave mercedes dealer across the street, which carries the SLR from time to time. Looking at the numbers the Quattroporte and the V are very similar except for $$. Ace we should meet up one day...

Foreign cars are one thing, Italian cars are in a league of their own :)

Porsches are for people who have more money than car knowledge, it's the official "Hey! Look-At-Me" Car!! I drive a Porsche, and you ?? (Ha, that kinda stuff.) In Manhattan all the Yuppies lease a Porsche as soon as they
hit $55,000 a year >>> INSTANT PORSCHE; just add water !

But.... a Maserati, exudes class, performance, elegance, appreciation for the finer things in life, love of fine automobiles, and likewise appreciation thereof. Plus you don't see yourself on every other corner in the same silver metallic Porsche, cloaned all over the place.

HRS, Firstly I found Jesus long ago. Second he was a fine Jewish man and a humble carpenter, as you know. Thirdly, as you know from our PMs I will never buy German or Asian vehicles. I will buy English, Swedish and ESPECIALLY Italian ! (After all, I am part Italian !) 'Ya THAT part! :yup:

Italian supercars are an enigma in the world of automobilia. They dont have to be reliable, they dont have to be practical, theyre full potential cant be realized on any American road without breaking about 5 laws, and yet... they tend to be some of the last vehicles that are still considered an investment (i.e. Enzo.)

I'm with you on owning a Ferrari-era Maseratti.

(I'll withhold my judgement on the soon to come Alfa Romeo-era Maserattis though.)

I just don't understand why Mussolini gets a break, but the rest of the Axis doesn't?

That's because they are not viewed as (help me, what's the word I want) ........ Mainstay (right?) I was actually mentally thinking of the Quatroporte which is selling very good here in NJ. I have seen 4 on the road since Halloween.

Remember, most folks going out to lease or finance or buy a $ 100,000 ++ 4-Door Family Car, think M-B S-Class, BMW 7-Series, Jaguar XJ, or Audi A8. They are brand name, it rolls off the tongue, my neighbors will be impressed and my clients will see how well I do.

Then, along comes Maserati ? 90% of the above buyers would say; "Maser-who" ??? But But But, the car-guy would know! >> So, it's more of a wealthy family CAR-GUY's wheels, so it's appealing to a much smaller, pin pointed market. Since the other racing names (Porsche, Lotus, Ferrari, Lamborghini, and others) don't make a full sized family car, it's got a big little audience, so it's doing pretty good in markets where there is a dealership. Northern NJ has 2 that I know of & there are 2 in New York, one on Long Island & one in the city. (Manhattan).

This thread reminds me of the movie gone in 60 seconds... when the guy (can't remember his name) is in the showroom talking to the saleman about ferrari's and champagne...
