It's the luxury III package with DVD Navigation, Sunroof & Adaptive Cruise in Titanium w/ Shale interior. I paid $53,000. jones850 03-14-06, 02:37 PM I've had my 2006 DTS for a month. (Titanium with Ebony inside, Luxury package III, moonroof, and DVD Navigation for $47,426 (GMS Emp. Discount). It is much smaller inside than my 1994 Concours (and I am slightly larger than I was 12 years ago) so the seat does not seem as comfortable, but I will get used to it. I ordered the bench seat, since I wanted the larger (longer) middle arm rest and more floor space. They say the bucket seat is much more comfortable and can have a higher grade of leather put on it. (I really did not get any additional floor space out of the deal since I leave the drink holder down all of the time.) But hey, what I really want to let you all know about is the unfortunate combination of the gear shifter on the steering column and the Navigation display screen. The view of the screen is fine when in Park, but when in Drive, the end of the gear shift handle interferes with viewing the display screen. And, when you lean over to look around the handle, if the sun is in the wrong place, the entire screen looks black -- can't win. I have only had the car for a month, so maybe I will find a work-around for this situation. And, yes, you don't need to tell me I should not be viewing the screen while driving. But sometimes, I just like to see the song title and artist -- not just the map or driving instructions. The situation is certainly not a deal killer -- the car is a great driving car, tight but smooth. I have not had a new car since 1994, so, it will take me a while before I stop being impressed with all of the features! Wow this car is packed with fantastic feature surprises. And, oh, if you don't already know, guess where the battery is located. JP299390 03-19-06, 11:46 AM I ordered an 06 DTS five weeks ago for my wife. A LUX III, White Lightening over Ebony with NAV, split bench seat and sun roof. The vehicle arrived March 17th. My wife and I visited her new vehicle Saturday. Dealer is detailing vehicle, changing the front grill to a custom vertical bar grill with no Cadillac emblem, adding vogue white wall and gold stripe tires, painting a dual gold stipe down each side of vehicle with a small painted wreath & crest, adding a "gold kit" for emblems and badges and placing a gold wreath and crest in the center of the LUX III wheels. Dealer is also installing a gold hood ornament. We hope to pick up the vehicle late in the day on March 20th. I am a GM supplier so what I paid is not relevant, especially since the dealer is discounting the vehicle $1,000 under the GM supplier price and is doing all the upgrades at his "actual" cost. The DTS will be our fifth Cadillac. My wive currently drives a 1999 Gold Deville and I drive an 05 XLR. I am a long time member of the XLR forum, however only joined this DTS forum today. Hello Everyone! Lanzz 03-26-06, 01:53 PM Made a deal for an 06 DTS Performance, Crimson Pearl with Ebony Tuscany. Nav, Chrome wheels, body color grill and Sunroof. Picking it up this week - got a great deal from Martin Cadillac in NJ - and used a GM lease pull ahead to cover the last 4 payments on my 2003 Infiniti. [[ Pic shows the chrome grill - they are swapping the body color grill back in before I pick it up. ]] :) rjm 04-02-06, 05:19 PM '06 DTS Luxury III, Blue Chip/Shale with navigation, rear sunshade, bucket seats here. Picked it up last Tuesday. DTS is the replacement for my lemon '05 STS V8 1SF which GM graciously repurchased from me. dyoll 04-19-06, 03:48 PM My 04 Colorado has a windshield spray before the wipers start to prevent scratches. My 06 DTS does not. I can't believe my $40k plus DTS has a fuel tank available to the public with prices as they are. The rest of the car is great! Lanzz 04-19-06, 06:54 PM dyoll, I agree, great car, but those are both HUGE oversights. I cringe when the wipers go across the dry glass before the washer srays. rekcsk@cox.net 05-18-06, 08:45 PM What is the octane rating of the fuel that is suppose to be used in the 2006 DTS? My 2005 DeVille used 87 octane, and the DTS has the same engine, so is it the same? I intend to order a 2007 when I find out the new interior color combinations, such as seats, dash board, floor carpete color. ctvw 05-24-06, 03:21 PM I picked up my 06 DTS Performance on Saturday. White Lightning/Titanium, Nav, Sunshade. Replaced my 04 CTS-V RTT 05-25-06, 10:45 PM '06 DTS Performance Sedan, white lightning--shale interior, nav, rear sunshade, body color grill. They told me no ethanol on DTS (non-performance) Told me 87 Unleaded regular okay although they recommend premium. Said you lose a few HPs if you use regular unleaded. Also said put a tank of premium in every now in then that it helps motor rekcsk@cox.net 06-18-06, 01:44 PM '06 DTS Luxury III, Blue Chip/Shale with navigation, rear sunshade, bucket seats here. What was wrong with your 04 STS that GM was willing to replace it? mack1a 07-29-06, 11:08 PM Bought a 2006 Performance Level on July 4th. Traded in 2003 DTS. New one with White Lightning, Nav, sun roof, deluxe wheels. Looks like they were able to make the best touring car even better. 77CDV 08-13-06, 03:03 PM Traded my 03 DHS (medium bronzemist over neutral leather) for a 06 Lux III DTS (glacier white over neutral leather) on 6/30. Sunroof, rear sunshade, just a totally cool car! My only regret is that it's not rwd. Maybe on the next redesign.... Craig Matts06DTS 08-19-06, 02:04 AM Hey guys Im new here...my dad has always had a cadillac...It was first and 80's Coupe Deville, then an 89 fleetwood (until 2003) then a 99 STS, and we just bought a 2006 DTS Performance. It has everything in it...except the Adaptive Cruise Control. It is black on black with the tuscany leather and center console with navi, sunroof, heated/ac/ massaging seats, Rear sunshade...18" wheels. So many features, cant remember all...Purchased April 1, 2006...Currently has 6,000 miles. It is used as my dads commuter car. I love this car. Price was 58K plus 3K markup. We ended up purchasing the car for $50,450 + fees. Love this car... Wombat 08-23-06, 12:52 AM Just drove home my new 2006 black on black performance DTS. Traded in my 2000 black on black DTS, and I can't believe the difference. I love it. Didn't understand that the navigation system actually played DVD movies on the dashboard of the car. Too cool for words. (Shouldn't that be illegal?) Love the airconditioned seats, love the tuscany leather, love the remote start. Got $6000 off since the 2007's are on their way in. Drove a 2007 equiped exactly the same, same colors even, and there was no difference that I could tell. So went for the better deal. The nice lady who lives in my car (nav system) tells me when to turn and all that - I didn't get lost before, but I like it anyway! Haven't tried the adaptive cruise control yet, but have been warned by the dealer to PAY ATTENTION until I get used to it. Sat in my driveway and registered with OnStar. That was fun. I love the XM radio. Didn't think I would care, but I'm already addicted. FastEddie50 08-31-06, 06:13 AM Here is my baby, a 2006 DTS Luxury II with moonroof & chrome wheels as the only options. My only complaint is that you have to take the Lux III package to get a really primo sound system. I leased for 39 mos. and traded in my 2001 300M. I am extremely happy with a payment of $263! 22874 Jesda 09-02-06, 07:51 PM Wow, what a low payment! Looks like DTS Performance is quite rare. Superjim 09-16-06, 11:21 AM DTS Performance Sedan. All options. White Lighting with Shale Leather buckets. 18 inch 9 spoke chrome wheels. Have had it for a while. 17,000 miles on it. Love it. No problrms so far. It is a GREAT high speed touring car. Handles real well, especially for it's size and weight. obergc 10-25-06, 10:29 PM Picked up a Black on Black 2006 Performance package DTS that has all optional equipment except for the adaptive cruise control on 30 Aug. I only have about 800 miles on it but I love it so far, no problems or complaints. Jesda 10-26-06, 06:20 AM I cant tell from the reflections, but is the grille black too? obergc 10-26-06, 10:27 PM Yes, grill is painted black Benbj 11-08-06, 02:13 PM i JUST BOUGHT A USED (RENTAL) 2006 WITH 14,000 MILES. PAID $25,000. Bigbill5 11-13-06, 05:41 PM Last week bought 2006 (new) DTS Performance, moon roof, Nav, white lightning/ beige. Paid $ 46000.00 before tax cubldr 01-11-07, 08:33 AM Bought new 2006 DTS Lux II with Chrome wheels for $38K (MSRP 45,600) in October. Hope I can break this seat in. I am 6'4", 210LB and the seat is smaller than I am, especially the width. Amercians are getting larger and seats are getting smaller. I still have a '91 Park Ave (with only 70K miles) that I am saving for my 14 year old to drive soon. It has the most spectacularly wide seats. I put teenagers in back and even they, WOW, these seats are comfortable. Wish Caddy didn't feel the need to compete with the Europeans so much. pjblush 01-15-07, 04:30 PM Hello: I have a 2006 DTS III and I am very disappointed. It is a beautiful car, handles great (a little touchy), rides great, but it is extremely disappointing in the gas useage and the function of the gas gauge. I had a 2004 DHS that I really loved. It handled like a dream, rode well, and, believe it or not, it got 24 to 25 miles to the gallon of gas over the road. In town it got between 16 to 17 miles to the gallon. In our business, we do a lot of over the road travelling so we get quite a few miles on our car in a short time. So we trade every 3 years. Our 2006 DTS doesn't even get 19 miles to the gallon, and the gas gauge registers virtually empty when it has used about 14 gallons. I have never been able to get more than 15 gallons of gas in that tank. If I only drove it to the grocery store or shopping, I might not be so frustrated. I might not like it, but I could handle it. However, this means when we drive to Oklahoma City, we will have to fill up before we get to Dallas. Before, we could get north of Dallas or Fort Worth. We have driven Cadillacs over 20 years. I felt they not only beautiful cars, but a great business asset. By the way, one person asked what octane gas does the DTS use. The handbook says 89 octane or higher. I put in 89, but it didn't change anything. I guess I've been spoiled. When I drove a Cadillac, I didn't think any other car could top it. I still like, but it isn't the love affair it once was. Phyllis cubldr 01-16-07, 08:41 AM Perhaps your gas gauge or the on-board info system is incorrect. I am finding that my gas mileage on my 06 DTS is in keeping with the published ratings. I get 16-17 in town (stop and go) and 25 on the hiway as an average. When my gauge gets to "empty", I have used about 15 gallons which means that I have about 3.5 gallons in reserve, which is as it should be. This is my first Caddy but I had three Buick Park Aves and I found this to be consistent, dyoll 08-03-07, 03:26 PM I weigh 165 and am 5ft 8in. The 06 DTS seats are the best I ever owned. The lateral back support allows me to drive all day in comfort. On the other hand, my 06 SC430 lexus is a desaster for driver comfort. No lateral back support at all. steck 09-01-07, 10:58 AM so when you guys are done talkin about gas mileage,,,are ya gonna post a pic of your caddy....as the original poster requested  Superjim 09-03-07, 06:38 AM Here is a picture of mine. 2006 Performance White Lightning/Shale Allstrobedup 11-15-07, 08:50 AM 07 DTS Preformance. http://s83.photobucket.com/albums/j311/shauno2006/?action=view¤t=DSCN0961.jpg http://s83.photobucket.com/albums/j311/shauno2006/?action=view¤t=DSCN0963.jpg http://s83.photobucket.com/albums/j311/shauno2006/?action=view¤t=DSCN0966.jpg http://s83.photobucket.com/albums/j311/shauno2006/?action=view¤t=Apr03_0001.jpg http://s83.photobucket.com/albums/j311/shauno2006/?action=view¤t=Apr03_0001.jpg http://s83.photobucket.com/albums/j311/shauno2006/?action=view¤t=Apr03_0002.jpg http://s83.photobucket.com/albums/j311/shauno2006/?action=view¤t=Jun07_0001.jpg thedewars 12-31-07, 03:58 PM New to Cadillacs, but have always adored them from afar. Finally have a 2007 DTS. Shopping for an STS, but found that we needed more room in the front passanger foot weel, and that led us to the DTS. Black with black interior, nav, sun roof all for $39,000.00. An american GM exec car. We're in Ontario Canada, and took it to Pittsburg Kansas in November, and that was the drive that sold me. The most relaxing and comfortable ride ever. Love it. dubble6s 03-05-08, 03:40 AM Just picked up my 2008 DTS in Black Cherry with Linen interior with the Cocoa accents. 22 miles just picking it up, going to dinner and coming home. LOVE the car so far. I got the Luxury III with the 6-CD changer and I had the dealer put on a hood ornament, spoiler and tint the windows to the legal limit here in FL. It came with the 5-spoke (wide) chromed aluminum wheels. The car looks UNBELIEVABLE and drives AMAZING! Caddy07 03-22-08, 02:17 AM This is my '07 DTS white lightning with the E&G faux convertible top and gold emblems. I bought it new in November of '06 for a little over $42000. I have installed two 15" L7 subs with a 1200.1 Kicker amp. Also I have lowered it 1.2" with a set of Eibach springs and custom factory air ride bracket for the rear, and added a set of 22" inch Burlwood woodgrain wheels with a set of 255/30/22 Hankook tires. I also tinted the front and rear lenses and added the chrome pillar posts and the escalade style fender vents.
