| View Full Version : Northstar in a Buick! I~LUV~Caddys8792 12-05-05, 08:16 PM Thats really cool, I just learned about that a week or two ago. I wonder what It says on the engine cover? DopeStar 156 12-05-05, 08:23 PM It looks exactly like the Cadillac one but it's got the Buick trishields on it instead of the Caddy crest and wreath. LaneWvr 12-05-05, 08:29 PM Dosen't the rearend look like a VW, forgot which one but I thoght that the instant I saw it. I~LUV~Caddys8792 12-05-05, 08:42 PM Its the Phaeton you're thinking of. Yes It does. I'd get one anyday. It's basically a DTS but for about $10,000 cheaper and a better suspension...It has heated windshield washer fluid!!! and a Northstar...for only $35,000!!!:bighead: I~LUV~Caddys8792 12-05-05, 09:14 PM Hmmm its kind of like Buick's version of the Aurora. Northstar V8, FWD, Sedan, $35k price tag. But this one is more conservatively designed. ben72227 12-05-05, 09:35 PM And its just a better car. Buick is actually trying to compete now with the Avalon...;) fpmesiIII 12-05-05, 09:39 PM i like it and it def. looks like the VW. I~LUV~Caddys8792 12-05-05, 09:48 PM And its just a better car. Well yes, but its also 10 years newer Buick is actually trying to compete now with the Avalon...;) I hope it works..It should DopeStar 156 12-05-05, 10:13 PM GM has so many good things going for them and if they could only get that shit out to the public their sales would pick up! Playdrv4me 12-05-05, 10:37 PM You guys are nuts. The 06 DTS is so much more pleasing to look at then that weirdly shaped Buick thing. I guess Im alone on this one but theres a reason the Cadillac is 10 grand more... Not to mention all the bells and whistles in the caddy. Revoh 12-05-05, 10:44 PM The last Pontiac Bonneville GXP's had Northstars like that, too. I~LUV~Caddys8792 12-05-05, 10:48 PM Yup mccombie_5 12-06-05, 04:36 AM Ok..... So my new car looks like a Buick, my Buick looks like a Lexus, and the VW looking one is competeing with Toyota, but it has a Cadillac Northstar and cost's $10,000 less than a Cadillac with a Northstar. Sounds like Buick doesn't know where it is aiming. I like this new breed of Buick though. I bought one didn't I :lildevil: -Will probably sell it soon though Jesda 12-06-05, 07:28 AM If it really does drive better than the Avalon as Automobile Magazine claims, then it'll be a heck of car for 35k. ShadowLvr400 12-06-05, 01:36 PM I heard its a surprisingly good car, especially from Buick who had gotten rather stale. Looks pretty nice, but I won't go northstar again. I~LUV~Caddys8792 12-06-05, 04:05 PM but I won't go northstar again. How come? DBA-One 12-06-05, 04:40 PM There is a car in my area you may like. It is a '53 Studabaker. It has a Northstar motor. They got real creative with the cooling pipes for the install. It doesn't look like it belongs there but it all works. I'd hate to have to change the serpentine belt though since it is by the firewall. | |
